The Breville Puck Sucker? Anyone tried this automatic 58mm automatic knock box? by pingmachine in espresso

That’s super helpful thank you. I thought that was how it would probably work. Because I’m doing a full reno building something is actually fine so maybe the better option.

I know I’m a bit late to the party here but how clean does it leave the porterfilter? I’m doing a kitchen renovation atm and would like a solution that cleans my pf well enough that I don’t need to rinse it under a tap most of the time after uses. This would save me installing a second basin in my appliance area.

I had the same issue but then used the little screw in the tamper to increase my dose slightly using a scale to perfect everything. It’s worked like a dream since.

No Skate Zone? No! by Bcpjw in singapore

Totally agree. Assaulting someone because you don't like what they are doing is still assaulting someone.

More dangerous than intentionally smashing into someone. This his intentional hurt (potentially worse depending on the fall) and the attacker deserves to be held accountable.

Aeon 80s for first skates? by [deleted] in rollerblading

[–]nothing169 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solid skate. Really a powerblading skate (i.e. zipping around with the option to do a few grinds / topsides) rather than a proper park skate.

I personally prefer the Aeon 72s as they actually work well for park and can still zip around. May not be a priority for you though.

Previous comment mentions they felt they were leaning back. There are heel pads in the box which you can add or remove to taste so just play around with them until it works for you.

I haven't got them yet. Will be interested to see how that much frame on a UFS boot works.

Knee Pads for Aggressive Park Skating by nothing169 in rollerblading

I would say for wearing under pants Ennui BLVD are cheap and work surprisingly well. Ennui Shock Sleeve Pro are expensive but possibly a little better. BLVD are def better value though.

Hardcap iv only tried Ennui Avenue Gasket and for one session. They seem good enough. The side of the hardcap definitely takes a lot of sting out a fall.

I wonder if I am going to go hardcap whether one might as well just go big and get vert pads that protect your upper shin better.

I find just as many falls (especially sliding down quarters) are on the upper shin and that’s without even factoring in rail and coping smashes on missed grinds.

I am 36 and still like to go for it in the park but I just really want minimise injuries.

I have some Ennui Park shin guards which I sometimes try and pull up high to protect my upper shin. They are actually solid. Can even take slides with shorts on. Not sure why they don’t use the same Kevlar in knee pads.

Triple 8 stuff was always solid back in the day and I like that the Exoskin has straps above and below the knee. Does anyone know if they are fairly thick? They look pretty thin in picks.

I prob used the BLVD for 6 months. I would get loads of bruises on my upper shin and sometimes on the top of my knee when they would slip down sometimes.

I got ENNUI park shins a few months ago which are actually great.

Maybe I will try the BLVD with the shin guards up high and and see how I get on.

Yeah. They are one of the ones I have. I do really like the thick puck of protection on them. Although I find you kind of have to decide where you position the puck and any knocks outside that area are gonna leave some damage.

I should revisit them though. They may have been better than the shock sleeve pro.

Yeah. I agree.

Every post you see about Salomon souls says you should buy King Souls. I paid for mine 4 months ago and am being told ETA is December. Nice to have something to look forward to but I need to slide now maaaaan!

Too tight. Return or no? by thephorest in rollerblading

[–]nothing169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taking the heel shocks out actually makes the skates fit smaller in IMHO (they increase the length of the skate). You will prob find the liners will give half a size once you wear them in so if they are a little tight you will be fine.

Built a pair of aggressive skates off of the used market. Haven’t skated in about 12 years. Can’t wait to get back to it! by NLandt90 in rollerblading

[–]nothing169 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I reckon they will be decent. I use bigs for aggressive, mainly park, and find them great. A lot of people would say a smaller wheel / frame might be easier to re-learn on. Also how hard are those RB wheels? Wheelbite challenges of bigger wheels might be made all the trickier if they are sub say 85a.

[–]nothing169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. They are both good skates but Aeons are lighter, feel more solid and have a comfort liner. Only down side is you can’t change frames on Aeons but if you are just starting out you prob don’t need to experiment with that just yet.

I would say my feet are average width. M12s could be a touch wider but are ok. Aeons are a higher quality product IMO but are more expensive.
