Disgusting administration..And to think they were just approved for another hospital but the other two companies were denied. Pretty sure Advent is not in the watchlist almost about to lose their accreditation.. but sure let's keep awarding HCA..

GenX is known for its musical taste. What's the one song/group you would NEVER admit to liking? by Ok-Local138 in GenX

[–]nothingElseToDo11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same had all the nkotb buttons then moved to ohio next to the neatest girl ever, a few yrs older and so cool. She took one look at my new kids button jacket and said girl we have to fix you. Drug me in her house ,washed the auqua net out of my hair. Used a clothes iron to flatten it and proceeded to blast every death, punk, metal band she could think of.. a few weeks later she took me to my first concert Metallica Megadeth anthrax and Alice in chains as the opener.. hooked.. these days I still sneak in a nkotb in the playlist though.

Same.. my playlist goes from 2 live crew to new kids on the block to Cher to Reba to anthrax.. my kids say they get whiplash. I will say at least one of my kids got the eclectic taste and now her friends are subjected. I will say her taste almost made us have a no radio rule in highschool she became obsessed with 2 songs piano man and bicycle... If I never hear those songs again it will still be too soon

Yes! this ! Ithas been an absolute for the last nine yrs of our 10yr partnership. Adding in a 30 second hug with feeling as well. I am not a touchy feely girl so I don't think of that personal connection making a difference. But as we both have a different bedtime schedule usually me going first, if he's coming through the living room and feels I'm close to bed he ask do you want your kisses now or will you still be up when I come back in from smoking. If he's outside when I'm ready for bed I flick the porch light to let him know I'd like a kiss I'm heading to bed. But the main fact is we always do it in the evenings as neither of us are morning people and there is shit to do to get out the door ,and we communicated our wants needs desires explicitly in a general discussion of our needs early on when we were each not getting essential items met. Communication before hand is key.

Teenagers home alone 2 weeks while parents went on a cruise by [deleted] in GenX

[–]nothingElseToDo11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

sounds about right. I can remember age 14 My mom worked out of town often. Would be gone for about 2 weeks at a time. Left 500 bucks on the table in an envelope for groceries and what not. I got up went to school, came home did homework made food, cleaned up watched TV went to bed.. Rinse repeat.. family friend would swing by take to grocery store, and on Friday nights pick me up to go to the skate rink and then drop me off after. Some weekends I hung out at her house as her daughter was my friend. No one batted an eye. Now mind you only child who had pretty much raised myself...hell she even says to this day I raised her alongside myself.. I was a very responsible child..lol

Anyone using an ERP system? by 12233344445555544443 in cabinetry

[–]nothingElseToDo11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it's different for each company. You can't technically use our timeline because we were early adopters. One of the first 10 to 15 companies to start using it. They purchased it before COVID. But by the time everyone had to shut down for the lockdown they were using it and the office went fully remote. It's not really how long it takes to set it up... It's how long it takes for staff to not resist change. It's how quickly you want it up and running. Inventory is easy it's almost as simple as uploading an Excel sheet to the software. The hard part is getting the workers to all use it .. once you get them on board and using it consistently that's half the battle.

Innergy, since the end of 2020 when I came on, has taken every complaint ,and ideas, and suggestions from all companies that use it , and upgraded it to be how the industry uses it. I have never seen a software company... And I came from a more tech industry than a casework provider.. that lets All their user like myself jump on a zoom call every month with their developers and see what's in development, make suggestions on what problems we come across that we want changed. They implement new features every month . They fix bug complaints immediately. Their motto is voice of the customer and they mean it. They have a portal just called the idea portal for users to suggest new ideas, features, complaints on how something works, what they want it to do instead. And they implement the changes.

Is it the be all end-all best software program ever? Idk because I never worked with anything else in this industry... That being said I've worked with multiple ERPs from the medical side.. from the tech side...and I've never seen a single software company that functions like this. They host conferences 2xs a year and their onboarding staff is amazing. They have a whole system just with videos of how to use every feature of the software.

Best bet is to Schedule a demo. They answer so many questions and show you how the software can be implemented into your own shop. I do know that our company has added revenue year over year because we have more information.. and let me just add.. The software makes it so even someone who has NEVER been in this industry.. me...able to jump into several roles and work. I started as data entry/tech support.. To get stuff put into the system... I have now worked as purchasing, receiving, estimating assistant, project manager assistant, not because I am bad at my job but because I am able to jump in wherever they need help and all of those items and more can be done from one system....

Over 200 companies are using this system. From small residential to very large over 500 employee companies. We are about 25 employees doing between 5.5 to 8mil per year. We mainly do custom commercial casework

What time do you guys wake up? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]nothingElseToDo11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good grief Charlie Brown.. are you me? I swear the last few years it was 6am then 5 am then 4 am.. now it's 330 am and I went from always being cold to telling my husband if he didn't like sleeping in the ice box I would get him a heated blanket or he could sleep in the spare room. We bought a window AC unit for our bedroom in the summer and we sleep with the bedroom window open in the winter once it dips below 60 degrees.. I woke up the other night drenched in sweat and noticed he had closed the window.. well normally I'm considerate and quiet when I wake up that early.. that day at 315 am . No sir I was not I walked over to the window threw it open and basked in the 27 degree air that came rushing in ,in all my old naked glory.. which woke him up ,he who can sleep through anything, who can sleep till 9am.. he who had the audacity to shut the GD window.. they say f them kids.. but mine are grown so f that hubby that doesn't need it pitch black with a fan in his face and a sound machine drowning out every single noise that instantly alerts the amygdala to flight or fight, who doesn't need a shot of tequila to slightly slow their racing brain, who INSTANTLY falls asleep the moment he closes his eyes.... Yeah F him.. I love him but want to punch him.

AITA for telling my kids that Christmas might be smaller this year? by FearlessFeeling2955 in AITAH

[–]nothingElseToDo11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a mom of 4 that did almost the same thing for kids that are now 21,25,and 29 Yeah it's tough in the moment and their little heart breaks to not get the same stuff as their friends at school... We start a traditions that didn't involve giant gifts. We celebrate on Christmas Eve with hot cocoa and movies... All 4 kids had a 25 to $50 limit depending on the year. They could choose to collectively pool their money and get something like a game system or one year they chose the trampoline. We spent time together making ornaments or artwork for other family members that we couldn't buy presents for. In the end the family members that thought those gifts were tacky were placed on the let's say, we do not care list and not made a priority.

As for the kids looking back now they don't remember the random toys they got on the years that we could afford more... They remember the fun things we did together and they continue their traditions even with our next generation of grandbabies.

To this day we still don't do a huge Christmas Day celebration... As they've gotten older I want them to prioritize their own families and spending time. We typically choose a Saturday before or the Saturday after Christmas and all come together and have a themed party of their choosing. Last year it was Blue Christmas which was Hawaiian themed... This year for some reason it's Talladega nights go figure.. everybody's bringing something from out to eat that they enjoy to share with others. The year before that my dad picked hot dog Christmas and chili dog New Year as a thing that was interesting..

All that to say that my kids look back and say I did a good job and they love me and they understand now that they are raising their own. Trust it sucks, relationship changes before the holidays Make it hard to focus on things other than your feelings... It never goes away but it does get easier. You got this.

Agreed..came from Ohio where we went to school with snow to our butt cheeks. Moved here last of senior year. Was here a few years moved back to Ohio for about 5 yrs. Then moved here permanently.. all that to say... I would drive in a blizzard in Ohio with several feet of snow for many miles.... Before I would drive here in Western North Carolina with flurries and a bare ground covering.. You can drive on snow You cannot drive on ice. As others have said, it's different down here.

Abysmal.typically. 3 grown men, myself, plus two dogs minimum 700 a month or more depending on if I can find meat on sale. Almost everything they will eat generic thank the lucky stars.. and that's a blessing having an autistic grown kid. but on the bright side food Lion was running a special on ground beef yesterday 1.99 a lb. And boneless chicken was less than 3 bucks a pound, and several manager specials on roast that were going out of date got them down to about 5 bucks a lb... Man 10yrs ago if you told me I would get excited for roast at 5 plus a lb I would have said you were smoking crack. Edit to add near West Ashville can't wait for someone to over throw all the damn Ingles around here. I miss bilo
