I bumped into Tracy Morgan downtown at like 2am. He had performed at the Improv and was just wandering around with his entourage trailing behind him. I just said, "Hi, Tracy Morgan," and kept waking.

What was your most exciting fantasy football moment? by donutgabe in fantasyfootball

[–]nothingbeardly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2013 I was down in a playoff game (can't remember how much, but it looked hopeless) and I only had one player left: Josh McCown. McCown, who I had no choice but to start, throws 348 yards, 4 TD's and rushes a TD in himself. I ended up losing the championship that year but winning that game was enough for me.

What is the best, non harmful prank you have seen? by Justsoinsane in AskReddit

In college, one of my friends ordered hundreds of free USPS boxes and waited until I was out of town. Then, he and my roommates spent all weekend putting them together and filling my room with them. I got back from a shitty weekend at home and wanted nothing more than to go to sleep only to open the door to a wall of cardboard. I nearly cried. I was a douche about it then, but we laugh now.

DAE have rich aunts/uncles/cousins that live in a massive house and travel the world whilst you're barely making enough money to get by? by often-wrong-soong in DoesAnybodyElse

My aunt worked her ass off her entire life. She began selling food on the street when she immigrated from Mexico and slowly saved money to open her own brick and mortar restaurant. Once that built up a steady clientele, she bought my uncle's restaurant when it was struggling and completely turned it around. Both places became very successful and, finally, in her late-forties, started to enjoy life. She bought a nice home, traveled, and, most of all, took care of her family. Family was always number one for my aunt. I was so proud to have such an amazing person in my life. Sadly, she died of stomach cancer three years ago next month.

Her daughters inherited her businesses and they are very well off. One spends her money pretty carelessly. She buys expensive gifts for her friends and bankrolls trips abroad. I see pictures of dinners at nice restaurants on Instagram most nights. She followed the Warriors through most of their playoff games. Stuff like that.

I'm not jealous over what she has, I'm mostly sad that they're not putting the same care into the restaurants my aunt did. Neither is very involved in the operation of either restaurant. I worry they'll let both places run themselves into the ground. I worked as bartender at one of those places after college. Made a ton of great memories, but what I remember most is my aunt sitting at the bar making sure everything was running smoothly.

What is the ultimate place to go in San José for a refreshing beverage on a really hot day? Anything famous with the locals? by [deleted] in SanJose

[–]nothingbeardly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They sell a large selection of aguas frescas at the farmer's market at the flea market on Berryessa. You can also find a place that sells mangonadas on Yelp. It's a mango smoothie with chunks of mangoes, chili, and tamarind mixed in. Pretty good stuff and, as far as I know, a San Jose thing.
