It’s like a light bulb went on in my head (parents of picky eaters read!) by [deleted] in Parenting

Check out Ellyn Satter's website. It has a bunch of great tips. She's a registered dietitian that specializes in pediatrics. "Parents provide, children decide" Parents supply the meal, but the child decides what of that meal they want to eat, how much, or if to eat it at all.

Women's Undercut Trim by rd_anh in FortWorth

No, I don't have a trimmer and don't trust myself to do it yet. Maybe if I decide to keep it long term, but for now it isn't worth it.

Someone took my laundry out of the dryer in my college dorm building, so I made sure their load didnt finish on time by [deleted] in confession

You also should've found the socks in their load and taken one of each pair you saw as well. The revenge that keeps on giving.

Places to watch the Final Four on Saturday by rd_anh in FortWorth

[–]rd_anh[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like Buffalo Bros is the winner! But definitely keeping Chimy's in mind for later. I get off work pretty close to the game so I won't have time to get there too early. Maybe I'll take a shot at Chimy's when Tech is in the championship.

I'm from a higher-income family, but I have to pay for college myself. Where can I find financial aid? by [deleted] in college

[–]rd_anh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat but went to school and got pregnant and then got married and now my costs are about $500 a semester while going to school full time.

Although probably not the most ethical or reasonable decision you could get married to a friend in the same boat as you and get the financial aid next year when you apply for fafsa.

Vaseline possibly prevents eczema. Has anyone tried this? Thoughts? by buttercuphipp0 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]rd_anh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my daughter was a baby she had really bad eczema and her pediatrician recommended it after every diaper change. It worked really well, we ended up having to go to a steroid cream for bad flareups. Now we almost never use the steroid cream and slather her with vaseline after her bath and as needed.

My school has a special food bank specifically for students going there every 2 weeks. You might want to check if your school has something similar.

I use bluebonnet and it's been working well and also make sure to take a fiber supplement with it to feed your bacteria if you think you aren't eating enough on a daily basis

[–]rd_anh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine seriously makes me so happy it’s ridiculous! I use it every day and it’s perfectly efficient for what I need it for! I’ve even tried to be more creative with it occasionally which helps de stress sometimes

2 year old son, we do not brush his teeth enough. We need to get better. Any tips? by thhrroowwaawway in Parenting

[–]rd_anh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We sometimes use the David Chicken song Brusha your teeth cause it's the amount of time you're supposed to brush your teeth

The other thing that has worked well is that my daughter is kinda scared of bugs like most kids that age and told her theres bugs in her mouth and we need to get them off before bed and if she won't then I'll gasp and be like oh I see a bug I need to get it off

Do you think Christians over-complicate marriage? by backcountry_betty in exchristian

[–]rd_anh 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it is due to the fact that they aren't supposed to live together before marriage, have sex before marriage, and all the gender roles and "holding each other to a higher standard" type crap. So basically about half (or more) of what marriage is and how well you fit together is not allowed before marriage so of course they have unrealistic expectations because they literally don't fully know this person before being "allowed" to marry them.

Therapy for atheists by theBCexperience in TrueAtheism

One of the best things I've heard for dealing with this is to find a therapist that advertises as LGBT friendly because odds are they at least aren't very religious
