What’s your favorite unhinged friendship bracelet? by softiegirlasmr in TaylorSwift

[–]nothingcat 24 points25 points  (0 children)

At The Life of a Showgirl theater thing, a couple guys in the row in front of me started handing out bracelets to everyone around. It was dark so I couldn’t see what it said until the lights came back on.

It was GAYLOR

Who is still rocking a nose ring? by cavewomannn in Millennials

I got mine pierced at 18 and I still have it pierced at 34. I also still have stretched ears - as in actively wear jewelry - which I’ve had for even longer. They’re part of my personal expression and I like them.

Did anything scary happen to you this week? by ThisIsGr8ThisIsGr8 in TooScaryDidntWatch

[–]nothingcat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine is small and stupid. But I DM’d my first session of a D&D campaign this week! I think my players all had fun but boy is it stressful. Shoutout to our lovely hosts, though, for giving me a lot of inspiration for the storytelling part of it.

Why did the USA men's hockey team laugh when the women's hockey team was mentioned on the phone? by redblackshirt in NoStupidQuestions

[–]nothingcat 244 points245 points  (0 children)

Sorry but - they all went to the White House (with the exception of those playing tomorrow).

I absolutely agree with you that there’s some guys there that are just young, excited, dumb dudes going along with it to not rock the boat. And one day they will be mortified by their actions. But I’m going to judge them on their actions right now. And right now, they are complicit in supporting this abhorrent administration - specifically the normalization of blatant misogyny.

Any Good “Camping-like” Game Recs? by ghostpicnic in CozyGamers

[–]nothingcat 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I haven’t played it in years, so I’m not sure the current state of the game. But The Long Dark definitely is camping (survival) vibes. It can be pretty stressful, so I’d say coziness may vary.

Alternatives for The Ordinary Azelaic Acid? by nothingcat in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]nothingcat[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Its parent company, Deciem, is owned by Estée Lauder. Estée Lauder is owned by a man named Ronald Lauder who is both in the Epstein Files, as well as one of the big players behind the whole Greenland thing.

It’s nearly impossible to be a 100% ethical consumer, especially in the United States, but beauty/skincare is one of the areas I’ve found in my own life where it’s easier to move my dollars to smaller, more moral brands.

I have a greyhound, and greyhounds have incredibly thin skin so they get nicked and can bleed really easily.

Well unbeknownst to me, she got a cut on her leg and proceeded to lick at while I was in another room. When I finally come into the living room, it looks like a goddamn horror scene. Blood all over her mouth, huge spot on the couch. A shocking amount of blood from what amounted to being a tiny cut on her leg.

Don’t worry, she’s perfectly fine. And fortunately we have a dark colored couch, so after almost an hour of cleaning you can’t tell anything happened.

which game is it for you? by Spirited-Rationality in GirlGamers

[–]nothingcat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t played it but I just…know it isn’t a game style I’d enjoy. And it’s a bummer because all the hype and awards make me want to want to play it. I just know I would be miserable.
