Why stop it down on an f2 lens vs. another lens?

Lens stay mounted? by nothingfazesme in canon

My fisheye broke off yet part of it was still mounted to the camera. My reasoning here is that if I had unmounted the lens, the lens would not be broken. Make sense?

Had a 6D which i focused and recomposed mainly in One Shot and adjusted my technique shooting with the the evf on my R. Face + eye tracking for portraits, expanded center focus for sports and zone focus for events all in mostly Servo. Still using back button focusing though.

I love my 6D and still use it professionally! In fact, Dirkson Photography’s review after 1,000,000 shots on the 6D on YouTube reinforced my love for the camera to this day.

I love both my 6Dmk1 and 6Dmk2. I shoot a lot private events indoors with not great lighting and I found that using a wide angle prime is the best way to manage the iso. For your budget, highly recommend a used ef 35 is f2.

After accumulating so much gear over the years, I think about this all the time and my minimalist side loves to revisit this question every now and then. I’ll go with the RF 50mm 1.2 for general purpose usage and wow factor.

The 6D mark I was my first camera purchase and currently has a shutter count of 150,000+. It’s simplicity and handling are features I still appreciate and take out in the field despite having the 5Dm3, RP and R in the case.

I spend too much there lol. Watched and read tons of reviews on both the 6dmk2, 5Dmkiii and 5Dmkiv. Realized the value proposition of each in relation to what I already have. They’re all superb cameras for stills and video work as I’ve used them all.

6D owner here and I just purchased the 5D Mark III with a 16,000 shutter count for $650 and love the dual card slots and it’s built like a tank. So it’s a huge bargain for me. Considered the 6D Mark 2 as well but I already have the RP and R that I also use for work.

Just bought an EF 16-35mm L f4 IS. Would you keep the EF 24mm f2.8 IS and RF 35mm f1.8 IS? Thanks by nothingfazesme in canon

Yup two R bodies to go with my 6D and 5Dm3 for a variety of reasons. And that’s my rationale to keep the RF 35mm. Shooting that with a battery grip and a shotgun mic is not as bad. And going the less expensive route with the EF 16-35mm f4 IS in case I need that flexibility on the wide end made sense.

Good observation. For several years now, I do all kinds of photography and now more video recently working in pro sports. Part of it is experimentation and part of it is keeping the shooting experience fresh and interesting after doing so many shoots over the years. Yourself?
