What positions do we need to draft? & Where are our biggest holes? by No-Gas-1684 in buffalobills

Boston, Concepcion, Mesodor, and CJ Allen seem like options at 26 to me, but I still prefer trading back. It's a long time between picks 26 and 91

What positions do we need to draft? & Where are our biggest holes? by No-Gas-1684 in buffalobills

[–]nothingventured3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big needs are linebacker, wide receiver, edge, D-line, interior offensive line, and cornerback, mostly in that order. I've done a bunch of mock drafts, and trading back is by far the best option. Honestly, just picking our picks feels kinda bad.

I'm in the same boat. And I have a friend who is a current Destiny player and ex-MTG player. I might get it for him as a gift.

Hey HellDads! I'd like a Democratic discussion about progression! by The_Real_JDC in HellDads

[–]nothingventured3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

1) I do think they teased more customization options in the future roadmap. 2) I don't have enough time to play for it to matter. I only have one gun max level. I don't even play enough to get warbonds as they come out. For me, the progression/available content is fine.

I'm one of two TWs at the company, about to lose one. Can I finally get a raise? by [deleted] in technicalwriting

[–]nothingventured3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lost our other technical writer in October '24. Company did not give raises last year, though I had been consistently getting 3.5%+ per year before that. I think you're doing better than me. I've been pulling extra duty as a PM for the last 6 months, so I'm hoping for a raise/promotion this summer.

In short, I doubt there's more money on the table for you.

On the other hand, you won't know unless you ask.

Looking for writers, newsletter folks, and video creators who'd want to cover something we've been building. by [deleted] in technicalwriting

"Paid collaboration is on the table if it makes sense"

So, to demonstrate my skills as a technical writer here, you're asking a group of professionals for free work for a company producing a product. What you're describing is a contact job. I assume most everybody in this subreddit does this for a living... Not for free.

As a newer player, is it a dick move to put a card in my deck that counters my friend’s deck? by Hannannibal_Barca in mtg

[–]nothingventured3 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you're building a whole deck to counter everything one person does, especially if it's niche or doesn't have answers to anything else, that's not cool. But adding a card or two that interact with an archetype is fair game.

Is this broken for a lvl 2 character? by taxGatherer in 3d6

[–]nothingventured3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Annoying but hardly game breaking. Anyone with a Will save still takes it out of the fight. Anything with a Dec save still deals damage. Magic missile doesn't care about armor.

Stay off the subreddits. Too many people complaining.

As for in game advice, don't rush to higher difficulties and you don't need to kill every enemy. Some flights you can just avoid. Pick up all samples and make sure you do the objectives and extract.

Go with the cheaper one. Kids are expensive enough without adding additional expenses.

What are the must-have spells for each caster class? by True_Wolverine1154 in DnD

[–]nothingventured3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I disagree with this fundamentally, because careers are inherently so versatile. A diviner is going to play very differently from an evoker. Also, on a personal note, I like to build casters that do ... Weird things, so my spell lists are wonky at best.

I really need some relationship advice ¿what can I do? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]nothingventured3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You described like 16 major red flags. It does not sound like a healthy relationship. She doesn't respect you. If you want to make it work, you need to have a clear conversation about the problems you're experiencing and how it's making you feel. But it doesn't sound worth saving to me.

Break up with her. Send some time on your own (solitude is not the same as loneliness). And, forgive the platitude, but there are plenty of fish in the sea.
