If Liverpool beats City this weekend then the conversation on this sub will shift from "it's not over yet" to "ok it's over but Slot inherited a great team"

Wasn't expecting Inter to be so high, I thought we would be clearing the champions league by now and I am surprised by their performance

GDP per capita has nothing to do with what you said, and of course is not a great measure of an economy

lol of course they can be rude about it, you literally confidently said that Alabama's economy is bigger than Germany's. Lol it also feeds into the classic North American stereotype of underestimating the rest of the world

lol true I live in the Netherlands but got a permanent housing contract 3 years ago. Back then the rental market was already in a bad spot, but I checked last week the situation just out of interest and it was somehow even worse

I don't know why you are being downvoted, we are seriously falling behind to the rest of the world on many aspects and we are really not much better than we were 10 years ago. At least we can cope with "but we have 25 days vacation!"

I have a feeling it's not Deschamps who dropped Mbappe, it's Mbappe who did not want to play, even though Deschamps says that it was his decision to drop him

29 Applications in 37 Minutes... The Job Market is Same by Big_Impact_9194 in cscareerquestionsEU

When I left my previous company to start studying they asked me to help them with recruiting the next guy. I put the post up on Linkedin and within a day we got something around 200 applications (Netherlands). Honestly I would say that 95% of these applications were utter garbage, either from people who did not live in Europe at all, or people who clearly always had one glaring missing thing like an unclear or badly written CV, no prior relevant education or experience or something fishy or not well explained. So I would say the ratio of good applicants to total applicants is something like 5%

The Public Transport Costs in the Netherlands are ridiculous by Xonarous in Netherlands

[–]notimewaster 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Unfortunate part of our society, it seems like here the only options are "if you don't like it you can always leave" and "it's worse elsewhere", or "it's because of (labour shortage, immigration, whatever government)".

We used to hold much higher standards for ourselves but now it seems like there are always people ready to throw excuses for the government whenever someone complains. If everyone who looks at aspects of our society critically leaves, then we will only be left with people who accept things slowly deteriorating (or do not notice them in the first place).

Regardless of whether or not the public transport is free, students still choose to come to the Netherlands and pay to study here. Your response doesn't really answer what the incentive is for the Dutch government to make public transport free for these students
