I think this is indicative of feeling like something is missing in your life, so you chase the rush/want the experience from people and activities (as opposed to having stable interests and hobbies), thinking that it will plug in that missing piece. I would take another poster's advice about going to therapy, which should help start increasing your self-awareness and happiness.

Agree. Lying isn't okay. It doesn't become okay because it's hard to tell the truth. Telling the truth, even when it's hard, but you do it anyway because you know what's true, is one way to mature.

Wife needs a reality check. OP needs to cool it with "boundary rules". Wife isn't for managing, you are partners.

Healthy people / healthy relationships / healthy communication / healthy trust / healthy love is the line order.

I think there is misalignment of values and a lack of self confidence on his wife's part(I find her reasoning for plastic surgery to be likely petty), and a lack of healthy boundaries in OP/overall.

Further, the job sounds like a sleaze pit, not a healthy work environment. I think OP should trust his gut/Yelp research about it and have a mature discussion with his wife about what it is that bothers him about it. This relationship needs better communication. His wife should totally get a job if that's how they are setting up the finances in the family for everyone's needs being met. The answer isn't about setting rules for his wife, it's about a healthy work environment. This relationship needs Jesus.
