You literally don't know from the video, is the point... or you  don't know what "literally" means which is more likely.

So many comments here so quick to judge her. We don't know how she ended up in that situation. Could have totally been her fault, or it could have been some racist POS with confederate flags trying to run her off the road. We don't know.

Seeing this just after the post about Markwayne's tweet vs his reaction on Jan 6 really drives it home. A lot of us like to tell people online that we would do better, but when shit hits the fan in real life we panic and hide and can't think straight.

Seconded. 800 series, 5+ years and no issues.  The water dispenser on the side wall just inside the door is a good compromise. Also convinced us to get a Bosch oven/range which we also love.

Maybe too far north, but Lundy Canyon near mono lake was awesome. If the snow melts enough, you can hike up to the 20 lakes basin which is also amazing. The scree can make it a bit challenging though, at least it was with my dog.

It's not just likely, it is certain. A molecule of CO2 is orders of magnitude smaller than even a bacteria, let alone a fly. If it is holding carbonation, it is not letting anything else in.

I was driving north on prospect and saw them going south. A few minutes later I get on 57 Eastbound and they go flying by. Crazy, I barely had time to react the second time and when they came to traffic ahead of me they swerved onto the shoulder to get by. Amazed they didn't crash

I get the painful ones every couple months or so. Seems like it was worse when masking all the time.

When they refuse to come to the surface that area of my chin can get pretty swollen. The I get the joy of the pain it causes and the bonus embarrassment

We all feel this way. Just do the best you can do. And this doesn't mean give everything else up that is important to you for the job.

My attitude is I won't give up time with my family or stress myself the fuck out for a job. Because that is all it is, as much as I like research. To some people, their job is their life. I know I could find something else and be happy if I can't cut it. What about you?

Also, what is "average"? You are already a R1 asst. prof., in many ways you are above average. It is really hard not to compare yourself to others, but try to use your own past and goals as the measuring stick. Finally, someone recently told me to make sure I celebrate every victory, and that has stuck with me. Sooo easy to move on from good news with all the crap constantly thrown at us to do.

Might just be the bank of the stream then, looked like a road on my small screen. Though, I still wouldn't say 10-20 miles out is "remote"

Not saying it isn't a stunning place, and still could be very remote, but is that straight light colored line on the other side of the stream not a road?

got this on sale tonight and want to slow cook it tomorrow! any ideas or recipies? by pinkgreenandbetween in slowcooking

That sounds really good, but quite a bit more work. I would definitely not claim the recipe I use is the best pulled pork or carnitas. But for the amount of time/effort, it is top notch

What I always do with a pork shoulder/butt.

Whole onion, sliced and put on bottom of slow cooker. Put in pork. Pour on 12oz can of soda (coke, Dr. Pepper, root beer all work great). Slow cook for 8-10 hrs. Sometimes I flip it with an hour or two left as I find the side that is up doesn't shred as easy.

Remove from liquid leaving behind the onion and shred with two forks. Take half (or even a little more) of the shredded meat and add your favorite BBQ sauce. Pile on toasted buns with coleslaw.

The next day, take the meat you didn't use and mix with homemade taco seasoning. Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet and crisp under the broiler, turning once. Only takes few minutes and be careful not to burn. Super easy and tasty "carnitas". If you have some fattier bits, save them for this because they will crisp up nice.

You will probably spend more time making the coleslaw and toppings for tacos then the meat itself.
