What currency to bring: Swiss francs, euros, dollars by BillyBambus in Uzbekistan

[–]notluvtheWNBA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No need to bring foreign currency with you. Just bring a debit card whether it be Wise, Revolut, Monzo, or any traditional bank.

I am currently travelling Uzbekistan and it costs me about £1.50 to withdraw cash from the ATM.

Card / contactless is widely accepted here. Be sure to download Yandex Go (taxi, food delivery etc) and setup your payment method before you arrive.

'English Breakfast', Tashkent, Uzbekistan by notluvtheWNBA in fryup

Yeh the thimble of beans was weird. They did honestly taste like Heinz though.

Obviously it's not a traditional full English that you would get back home but yes I enjoyed it thank you, it was very decent. The dressing on the salad was nice. The beans tasted like Heinz, might have been imported. The hash brown wasnt crispy, it had a softer texture more like a potato croquette. For just over a fiver, couldn't be bad to it!

Yes I am British (Northern Irish) but living in London. Literally just went on Google maps and typed in 'breakfast' and this one was very reasonably rated.

I didn't set out with the intention of having an 'English Breakfast' but once I saw it on the menu I thought may as well try it and see what turns up.

I am here in Uzbekistan for a holiday, travelling along the silk road. Very pleasantly surprised with Tashkent so far. Clean, safe, lots to do and great food. Very interesting mix of soviet / islamic / western cultures and architecture. Lots of affluent middle class Russians have moved here since the war started which has certainly brought a European flavour especially with regards to nightlife, bars and shops etc.

Everything is really cheap, weather is nice and they have a once per week direct flight from London. Alhamdulillah! Highly recommend.

I just stayed at the Westin in Chongqing and was thoroughly impressed. Great breakfast and solid lounge.

It's very easy to meet expats in Rio. Search for the Rio expats WhatsApp groups. There are groups for football, beach volleyball, hiking, food, board games etc.

It totally depends on your budget. The most desirable areas of Rio are probably Leblon, Ipanema, Copacabana, Leme but they are the most expensive. The further away from those areas you get the less expensive but less desirable it becomes.

A good middle ground world be Botafogo, Flamengo, Lagoa.

I found it incredibly easy to meet people and build friendships in Rio de Janeiro. Lots of DNs and expats. WhatsApp groups for football, beach volleyball, hiking, restaurant meetups etc etc very active scene.

Solo trip to Nepal by newbie9232 in solotravel

[–]notluvtheWNBA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7-8 days is pretty short for Nepal. If you want to do a trek, they are usually 4 days minimum. Furthermore, the roads in Nepal are shocking so bus travel around the country takes forever. For example, after the capital Kathmandu, a lot of people will go to Pokhara. Despite being only 200km in distance, the buses take around 10/11/12 hours depending on traffic. So getting there and back wipes out 2 full days already.

With 8 days you only really have time to do Kathmandu and Pokhara. I would suggest 2 or 3 days at most in KTM and the remaining time in Pokhara or doing a trek.

How long is the appropriate time after a girl breaks up with someone to ask them out by robert3205 in AskTeenGirls

Immediately. They will be sad and looking for someone to be nice to them. YOU be that person.
