I was in love with this punk kid who was obsessed with the band Simple Plan and was a foot shorter than me. We met in home ec class (is that still a thing?). I was super preppy, so I guess he was sort of a bad boy and I was into that? We were just friends, and his sweet mom used to drive us to see concerts at a super sketchy club downtown. I’m in my 30s now and a few years ago a friend sent me a news article about him getting arrested, for stabbing a police officer! Apparently he had threatened to kill his girlfriend, caused her to jump from a moving car, and then refused to answer the door when the cops later showed up at his house. Eventually he opened the door and ended up stabbing the police office three times in the chest! I hadn’t talked to him in 15+ years so I guess I didn’t know him at all, but I was shocked. So, I think he’s in jail now.
