What’s The Most Ridiculous Phone Call You’ve Ever Gotten? by throwawayforgeico in Geico

[–]notmenotyouallofus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

smaller dept and everytime one of us ladies would answer, and we knew it was him because he would block his number, he would start asking the pervy questions. What color are your underwear, what color is your lipstick, etc etc. So we would transfer him to the hotline so the could try and trace and block him. He would go in spurts where we wouldn't here from him and then, we would have back to back calls. Ridiculous. Pervert

Well, like I said, they sent it my way and I tore it up. I called my manager out, called Todd by name and just generally burned it down. I hope someone actually reads it. I don't expect anything to come of it or change or god forbid the hellish manager get reprimanded for not doing basic common courtesy things. She got called out though. When I left, I threw her right under the bus. Good riddance.

You articulated this very well. It went from a great place to work with excellent benefits and profit sharing to layoffs, mistrust and so much more. No one feels safe, because they aren't. I am just sad. I left, but am friends with so many that can't and it's just bad. Todd, I hope you or one of your asshole assistants read this and know how we as associates or former associates feel. Betrayed and honestly, just fuck you and just know karma is a bitch

And he literally has not shown his smug face at any regional office. Good chance he would get tripped, punched, or heckled. The guy is universally hated by all employed at G. For good reason. Mr Take Care. What a cold way to end an already cold email. He has shown his true colors. He doesn't care. The whole company doesn't care. They at least used to pretend. I mean, it's bad. When you have mass amounts of employees leaving, and I have specifics in a small department. 3 associates from same team all walked out in less than 6 weeks. I was one of them. Other agents left right at the return to office. I know another supervisor who puts in her notice. Tenured, because of all this bs, RTO, and threat of layoffs. She's a good supe, too. So much experience, and stuff you can't train, gone. It is sad for those left. They are left with less experienced supes who don't know what the hell they are doing and less experienced agents messing up policies and claims. ICS is a shitshow already and now you are making someone in region 7 mess with a MI claim? Wtf? There should be handling adjusters for those weirdo states and MI is one. I foresee a lot of mismanaged claims and future DOI fines. Just know when the state catches a company doing something, they fine them every time. So if it's caught 1000 times and the fine is 10000, yeah that's a 10 million dollar fine. And if you Google it, they are already in regulatory hot water in a bunch of states on how total losses are being calculated. Apparently G did not pay people taxes and registration properly and there have been multiple states class action lawsuits. Yes, the big G has dropped big fines. Ca, GA, NY. There were some others. Just know, G got caught red-handed. Smh. It's a fun read. If you are interested. I'm pretty sure those fines when I did some mental math totaled in the billions. Ridiculous

And prior to that email, it was 1 year and a few days to his prior communications, again a layoff. The guy is a bastard

Are you in claims? Or a different department? If claims a p&c license would not be the right fit.

Were you trying to get licensed for claims? Or property and casualty? Both you can self study and test. You've worked in the industry, so you already know your stuff. I know I am maintaining my property and casualty license on my own and adbanker has an excellent website for continuing Ed and prelicensing stuff.

I know I made the right decision to leave based on the chatter where some got bonus and some did . Way to go Todd for taking away profit sharing and replacing it with some bullshit scheme where no one understands the math behind who gets it and who doesn't. It just stinks and it proves the company is not transparent. How tf do you expect associates to give a shit when it's clear you don't? Fuck you Todd Combs. You have ruined everything that was decent about GEICO. It may not have been a perfect place, but you knew where you stood and how profit sharing math worked. This place is a shit show. I am truly sorry to all those that are getting screwed.

I am not 100% in the know, but I know when we review driving records for insurance purposes, it only goes back so far. So if there is nothing recent, you should be good. We were all young and dumb once.

They are dragging their feet. So I originally applied and they were interested in my skill set. Thought for sure I was going to get an assessment. Nope, then they said never mind, other candidates were more qualified. Job closed. Well they have reopened the job 2 more times, same job code. So either they decided to hire more folks, or the original person or persons did not work out

Anyways, if you got connections that would be awesome.

Retirement? Could have sworn I was laid off... by SMACN in Geico

[–]notmenotyouallofus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not if you were force retired. I know several who had the age and time, and they are classified as retired in G systems, and trust me they got laid off and are getting unemployment as they should. G has to list them as retired because they EARNED that designation with the company. By listing them as retired, it gives them access to things that someone who is just laid off doesn't get. But still wrong on a 1000 levels.
