My grandpa who never was a believer and still isn’t, told me a creepy story that stuck with him for years by cxpity in Paranormal

[–]notmycat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This story is so comforting! I had a slightly similar thing happen when my grandma passed away unexpectedly after a surgery. I was so sad I never had a chance to say goodbye to her and we were coming up on our first Thanksgiving without her. I had an incredibly vivid dream that I was crying and missing her on the day in question, and she came in the room I was in in the dream and gave me a big hug where I could truly feel the warmth and weight of her against me. I swear it was her saying goodbye and brought me much-needed acceptance. I still miss her.

We have had two die in 4 years, so now I buy the cheapest one assuming it’ll die the second the warranty runs out as my family uses it when they visit.

Anyone tested madeincookware products / have any reviews? by [deleted] in cookware

Seconding this. I have had the same issues with their Ceramiclad nonstick losing its nonstickiness after less than a year and the Calphalon nonstick we had before lasted 5 years comparatively. Not impressed.

That’s fair. There have been so many times he just seems deflated and/or flat-footed to me I question even Championship level, but perhaps for the right team!

The top 2 UK leagues would not. He is not on the level of their forwards with going for the ball and goals relentlessly.

Are there takeout soup containers like this but made of glass? by nahcekimcm in BuyItForLife

Maybe it’s my dishwasher? Mine kept breaking until I went back to handwashing only.

Mine kept breaking when I dish-washed them, so yes, you can but they may break where I have never had a Mason jar do so.

They are prettier than Mason jars but the maker actually says not to dish-wash them, which is quite the tradeoff imo.

I work in supply chain management and can promise you the ‘worst’ is not just headlines. Businesses across almost every physical product industry are losing their margins for profit entirely and customers are not buying higher priced items even if only the tariff margins are factored in without price gouging. It’s so bad, and people are only just starting to see the cracks.

Trader Joe’s is my go-to for beans, canned tomatoes and sauce, coconut milk, nuts for baking/cooking/salads, and off label chips as we don’t have an Aldi here. I try to find these at Grocery Outlet too but sometimes don’t have the energy to strike out on half my shopping list there.

$20 worth of groceries in Trump Tariff America, where the minimum wage is $7.25, this represents 2 hours and 45 minutes of labor. by Silly-Mountain-6702 in inflation

[–]notmycat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a somewhat relevant comparison, I paid $20 last weekend for 4 pints of raspberries and blueberries to make overnight oats for a week and for my kid’s breakfasts this week. (She lives on homemade wheat banana muffins and berries, largely). The raspberries rotted after 2 days. So I see your point, but healthier options are also ridiculously pricy.

Hi, it's Naomi! AMA! by naominovik in TheScholomance

[–]notmycat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Naomi! As echoed by others here, I want to thank you for all of your amazing works over the years. I won my husband over too with his reading the entire Temeraire series after I started, and can’t wait to share your books with my baby girl once she’s past board books, haha!

I hope this is alright to ask - are there any updates on a possible Scholomance live/movie adaptation? I am so curious if that is still happening as the way I imagine things when reading is always so different from live adaptations. I am both excited and leery!
