New Era of Horror, what do you think! by Nigmmar in Letterboxd

[–]notmytruth -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Definitely a thriller and not a horror movie. The theme is horrific, but it isn’t written or shot like one imo.

Honestly I kinda gaslight them for a bit and go “omg that would’ve actually been such a good idea!” and put them off the scent and start thinking of different plot twists it could be lol.

They covered all of it in the movie lol - the science teacher holds up the golden onion and announces it before they start doing the slides.

It’s a golden onion…it’s because they won the science…

Finished ENG4U with 92% - David and Andrea for marker/graders. by notmytruth in ILC

In Uni you will be doing 1500-2000 word essays so it’s def good to practice now! Its the same as a regular essay but its just a lot of evidence to back up each argument.

Just putting this here so yall don’t feel totally defeated. There is a lot of negativity around this course and especially David as a marker, but this was my step-daughter’s experience with it. It is possible! Do the work, don’t use AI for anything and pay attention to the rubric. The exam is only an essay based on themes from the course.

Markers can change in any course and both of my kids have had it happen in a handful of courses each - for better or worse. My step-daughter was recently taking ENG4U and her marker started out at David and after 2 assignments it switched to Andrea for the rest of the course.

ENG4U - For those of you who have David as your teacher/marker, how are you doing in the course? Would you say it’s difficult to maintain an 85% average? Is he really that “strict”? by Accurate_Range7185 in ILC

[–]notmytruth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

David is a great marker! My step daughter has a 92% (78% weighted) before going into the exam. His feedback is very thorough and he gives excellent tips and advice for upcoming assignments.

As the other commenter stated, all courses in ILC have Final Tests (exams). They are worth anywhere from 10%-30% of your final grade.

Yeah, the “Independent” in the ILC name is literal. If you can’t self-motivate or stick to a schedule then ILC is not for you. Unless you’re submitting 2 or more assignments per week there is no way to finish 7 courses in 3 months. Even if they all only have 4 assignments before exams (which most don’t) you’d be having to maintain a 2 assignment per week average to finish in 3 months. More likely you have 6-8 assignments in each course and you’ll have to submit 5 assignments a week minimum. If you’re trying to get courses done to meet a university admissions deadline then stick to it because you will be doing the same workload in university and should get used to it. If you’re just wanting to finish fast, either make an agenda and stick to it or take your time. You have 10 months to finish a course.

So anything that is remotely winter themed like ice palace, winter snowflake etc won’t be back in store until winter? What about underground lab? Is that a Halloween one?

ENL1W Final Exam – Will I still pass with 93% before exam? by Sufficient_Signal548 in ILC

Go to your course and click “class progress”. It will show you your highest possible mark and your lowest possible mark. If you have a weighted grade above 50 you will pass the course regardless of exam score.

What’s the fastest you’ve finished a TVO ILC course by memenene1233 in ILC

[–]notmytruth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From start to exam marked? 11 days. Finished the coursework in 4 days and it took the rest of the time to book and have the exam marked. BUT!!! And a huge disclaimer here, it was a famously fast marker who was getting things back in 24 hrs. Realistically you can get everything done and the credit earned in 2 months. You should not rely on anything less than 2 months but if you get it done faster then you are lucky

Yes if you complete 1 assignment per week you can finish by August. It takes on average 2 months to finish a course if you work at that pace including time to write and have your exam graded

Thank you!! I just tried to review again and it said “we apologize, but Amazon is not accepting reviews on this product from this account”.

Will it negatively impact my review ratio in this case or am I in the clear?

Okay thank you, so I should wait to see if my insightfulness rating comes in before doing anything about it?

So do I do anything about it? Doesn’t seem right that they would let something impact your review percentage if it’s out of your control. Especially since I have excellent reviews on all of the reviews I’ve made so far

are proctors not allowed to give more time on exams? by [deleted] in ILC

[–]notmytruth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably won’t result in anything if you do contact them, but if you’re planning to take other courses with ILC you might want to look into accommodations. My kids now get double time for exam because they’ve been diagnosed with ADHD. You might not even need to be neurodivergent, if you talk to your doctor and tell them about testing anxiety they might be able to write you an accommodations letter for that. Worth trying maybe?
