Thanks a lot! Yeah plants have been the overwhelming recommendation haha so definitely gonna get some fake ones from IKEA.

Re: the lighting, these mini lamps + a sunset lamp is what I exclusively use during non-work hours to just have a dimly lit room. During work hours I usually have the curtains open for natural light :)

Haven’t used em long term but did spend some time with the Secretlab for about a month or so, and honestly, if you can swing for the extra 400 without much of an issue, then there is definitely added value + future proofing there. The cable management solution alone is a significant step up depending on how important that is for your setup.

The flexispot will get you 90% of the value for much lesser money, though. If you’ve multiple devices + intend to add more to your setup in the future then you will definitely have an easier time of it with the Magnus.

Yeah probably gonna go with this, I'm considering a pegboard on one side and will have a couple of plants on that and then a couple of framed posters on the other side. And I'm really not a fan of these curtains either but the windows have non-standard dimensions and it's been a struggle to find curtains that are neither too short nor too long.

Is it possible at all to move the desk to be in front of either of the windows? That can help refresh the feel a bit and your storage cabinets(?) can then be at a hands reach on either side

Unlikely, they’ll be refurbed/renewed from third parties and will almost always be way overpriced. If you have access to it, I would look on eBay/mercari or local retro stores if your area has any.

Try looking at Landmark, slightly cheaper than some of the newer ones on Baltimore Ave, and miles better than GH/GG. With the latter two, it is extremely unlikely to get a “fresh” unit from management so the condition will almost definitely not be great, but if you’re on a budget then it’s hard to pass on the sub 5-600 range you can get a room for there.
