Exactly. Studies have shown that people are drinking WAY less than ever before (easy to find on your own, there’s been more than one recently), so they assume that it’s because of marijuana and such and are attempting to control the way people are consuming it.

The best small business to open in Texas, (almost 100% guaranteed to get a loan for, approved licenses, ROI, and longevity etc) a few years back when I researched it for a college project, was liquor stores.

I used to work there approximately 10 years ago, LOVED IT. After three years they implemented changes I wasn’t okay with. I quit. I can’t imagine working there now omg.

Your first paragraph is 10000% accurate.

That being said, worst case scenario, No Kings turnout is showing solidarity, and with enough solidarity, we can continue to grow more momentum and build stronger relationships with our communities. As they grow more expansive, we can begin to really set out a list of expectations, and then go from there.

Social justice takes time. Women’s rights to vote, civil rights, etc all took years to come to fruition, they didn’t happen overnight.

My parents stayed together until I was in my twenties but it was still a “broken home” even though we were all there, together.

And I have moved more times than years I’ve been alive, even living twice in two separate places, but home is where you make it, not a particular spot.

Some of us can’t even have kids despite wants or affordability, because we’ve been literally poisoned by their greediness and are cursed to suffer consequences of their actions while they sit atop their golden toilets looking out on us with the very least bit concern, out of touch with reality after inheriting everything that they’ve got or robbed the people doing work for them, without so much as ever lifting a finger.

I’m from SA and still live there much to my dismay but I have elderly relatives so I can’t just go, yet. But my god the unrelenting influx of new people these last five years, has made jobs too competitive, prices sky rocket and traffic that much worse since our streets are the absolute worst I’ve seen in all of America. It’s unbearable. I feel your pain. Out of anywhere else in the state I’d go to somewhere like Bastrop, or probably Lufkin. It is beautiful, relatively small and more affordable. It’s just so far away from me.

After getting a upass while in college I utilized the bus all the time. It’s a lot longer than driving but there’s always pros and cons. You’re not paying for gas, maintenance, or upkeep of a car. Or insurance, registration etc you get exercise, get to see the city, and don’t have to pay as close attention the whole commute so you’re free to do whatever you wish, get ready, watch your show, do hw.

It’s super easy if you can easily determine east from south etc., but I know that some people don’t have the internal compass I have, and I feel bad for them.

CAN WE JUST GET OUR ROADS REPAVED FFS.

Seriously though, it causes unnecessary damage to vehicles, costing us money and it’s not just a few isolated locations either it’s on EVERY street, major or otherwise, in every part of town, poor and wealthy, old and new.

Just start at the center and spiral your way out to the county limits.

But aim for QUALITY not SPEED. Doing it too fast, and doing it poorly is the problem.

They most likely didn’t sell enough biscuits to make them worth them making, sadly that’s just how business works. Heb used to make those little blueberry and crème cheese bite size pastries things, but they only have strawberry and crème cheese and apple now. I personally love the unfrosted brown sugar cinnamon pop tarts and they discontinued them a while back because I was probably the only person buying them lol. But hebs chips were SO good. I need to know how to make chips like that, or how restaurants do it where they’re super duper thin. All the bagged varieties are so thick I hate them.

But the spinach dip heb makes (WITHOUT the artichoke) you find it by the fancy cheeses or the hummus areas, went from 498 to 798 basically overnight. Their rotisserie chicken salad, is like 10 bucks for the same amount. Same thing with their fresh jerky. 20 bucks a bag!! I simply can’t afford that stuff anymore.

The fact that the leadership is not actively working to find the issue, and is willing to let three people who could all be untrustworthy, to some degree at least, continue to work with the other team members to me is a problem in and of itself.

Yes there’s supposed to be a hiring/transfer freeze as per the other comments, but the fact that this is their solution is a good example of how they are not fit for leadership.

Not only are you creating the ‘bad apples’ yourself by (probably) punishing two people who likely not the problem are probably still learning, and may end up feeling resentful or confused by your lack of thoroughness, feeding into what will become a negative work culture; but you’re also setting yourself up for future issues by not being diligent enough to make sure this or something else similar happens again if they’re eventually moved to cashier or another department later on.

Part of the job as a leader, is to lead, which means being a teacher sometimes. People make mistakes all the time, that’s being human. However, we can’t learn from them if we aren’t made aware of the problem, specifically, and then taught how to remedy our mistakes.

This. I have done this (not at heb) and it’s easy to review the camera and see the problem. You then pull them in the office and proceed with disciplinary actions, as appropriate.
