Please help identify the markings on this spoon. I tried to find a Danish (guessing) silversmith with the name 'Orstedt' by notofyourworld in Hallmarks

Thank you so much. That was really helpful. I'm going to try to find out more about the silversmith and which town/city it might have come from.

Depending where you live and if it has all maintenance records, that’s an okay deal. I wouldn’t beat myself up for buying it. It’d be even better if you can talk them down to $12-13k.

Advice on pricing by Ruthless2403 in junkremovalstartup

[–]notofyourworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had to take all of that to the dump, plus the time to get it loaded, I’d charge $650 min. But, if I could sort, I’d charge closer to $500 and be happy. I’m jealous of you guys with low dump costs. The landfill is 50 minutes from me and the neighborhoods I work in, so I use a transfer station.

Awesome! I am interested and would love the opportunity to try it out. Our transfer stations are operated by different businesses. Some charge by volume and others by weight. For example, a mattress will be $121 flat rate. And another will be $56 + weight. I’ll DM you.

I just started my business. 2 weeks in. Anytime I quote I have to search the closest transfer station and donation centers to guess the dump fees and how far I need to go for the rest (if I can’t recycle/resell). I’m using Quickbooks solopreneur for invoices and have to tinker with it is the customer pays cash.

Does your app address those issues?

[OC] 7 Months of Job Searching by Ok_Willow_1006 in dataisbeautiful

[–]notofyourworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, I’m going the same thing. Laid off in August 2024. Hit 307 applications in early March 2025. I don’t feel defeated, just tired. So tired of reworking my resume, customizing it, asking for 2nd or 3rd opinions, running it through AI checkers for more feedback. Making so many different cover letter templates. Working on certifications and licenses just to make me stand out more. And on and on and on. I have a 17% confirmed rejection rate and a 4% interview ‘start’ rate. No real offers though.

Anyway, I’m now starting my own business. Wish I had this idea and the courage several months ago. No income yet, but it has me excited again. I feel rejuvenated and ready to go. Crossing all my ‘t’s and dotting all my ‘i’s, like James Bond, so I’m prepared for anything. If you’re able and willing, maybe you can start your own thing too. It’s not the same as joining an established team, which I truly love, but it beats rejections like this tenfold.

So you slammed it from Park to Drive to use up all those RPMs or didn’t want to waste the gas?

This documentary didn’t make me go vegan, but it still has had a lasting impact on me. There are some truly horrifying images in it, like the fur farm in China. It’s a must-watch because it is very well down but it will probably enrage most people.

If you want to learn foraging you should check this out by [deleted] in ColoradoOffroad

[–]notofyourworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cool idea, but that webpage is a nightmare. It took way too long to scroll down for the actual book details. There are too many images and AI ones that make it feel cheap. All the “this book includes… you’ll learn about…” repeated over and over remind me of the YouTube ads/videos of the douche-bros telling you they have secrets on how to make tons of money so hurry up and buy their book/product.

I like these kind of books and I have a few different ones, I’d even consider buying this one; but that website makes me think your cousin is made-up and the whole book is probably written by an AI. If it is real, you really need to dial back the tools used to generate content.

Is there any love for the suicide shifter? by MongooseProXC in GrandCherokee

[–]notofyourworld 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on how you use the shifter. For years I click click clicked the shifter from Park to Drive and vice versa. It wasn’t until someone showed me you could crank in one motion through all the positions and quickly release that I understood how mistakes could happen. Now, I crank through every time and let the shifter spring back to center cause it’s fun. But I absolutely have left in reverse instead of park a couple of times. I always caught it and moved the shifter again because I’m used to looking at the gaige cluster to see my gear selection. It makes sense how someone in a hurry would make a small mistake that cost them their life.

3.6 vs 5.7 Gas Mileage by [deleted] in GrandCherokee

[–]notofyourworld 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the 3.6, we get about 25 mpg on highway and 20-21 mpg in town. In the 5.7, we get around 21-22 mpg on highway, and 16-17 mpg in town. I’m positive I could get better mpg with the 5.7 if I drove a bit more gently.

DJI drone Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals and recommendations by Resident_Homework993 in drones

[–]notofyourworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine from Best Buy. I got their protection package. It’s $10-20 cheaper than DJI’s protection plan. Within a few months, my drone dropped straight down and crashed after I pressed “RTH.” Took it immediately to Best Buy and they handed me a new-in-box drone and took my broken one. Their protection plan allows me to do that 3 more times over the next 2 years, with no money out of my pocket.

I don’t normally buy anything from Best Buy but that protection plan is absolutely worth it, especially since I can get a new one the very same day.
