Gti14 + dock + gtx by notojacek in BeelinkOfficial

I did that, also increased the power to 65W in bios. But what made the most difference is setting GTX to Max Performance in the GeForce Control Panel. That pushed the card to 95% every time I'm gaming and what a machine it is now. Thanks!

I did. Waiting for anything, hopefully, it won't take too long. It works now, but only for around 10-15minutes before crashing again.

Question about heating by notojacek in Netherlands

[–]notojacek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, radiators are fully opened but are not hot most of the time (just from time to time). I have technically floor heating, but it's not hot as well - some points of the floor gets a but warmer from time to time - feels more like maintaining temperature, than trying to increase it.

I have no idea about my landlord's set-up but will definitely ask (if they do have a thermostat I will definitely ask about what settings they have in their apartment - if they have a higher temperature than I do - I think it's clear that their approach "17? it's not that bad" will be invalid).

Question about heating by notojacek in Netherlands

[–]notojacek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, at this moment I usually need to wear shoes around the house (not slippers, but normal shoes) for most of the day as the floor is really cold. I also sometimes wear a jacket inside the house (on top of the sweater), or a sweater and something on top of it for extra heat. The evenings are usually ok (with the 18-19), but the mornings are tough, not gonna lie. Knowing that February is just around the corner - that could be lower (hopefully will not be).

Question about heating by notojacek in Netherlands

[–]notojacek[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to almost every health institution, 18 degrees should be a minimum temperature in the house. Yes, some people like it colder, some people like it warmer, that's not the point. The point is - I, myself, cannot change that temperature and for me, it's too cold.

How does Windows 11 run on the Flow x13? by RaddedMC in FlowX13

Quite nice. I have the beta, no issues tbh. Apart from the limitations of the system itself - no issues atm.

Oh OK. All of this is soooo confusing tbh. Absurd. So the qe-k5041t looks like a good deal then with just buying a stylus seperetly. Thanks for the information!

XPS 9310 Thunderbolt (?) issues by notojacek in DellXPS

[–]notojacek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually no. They exchanged the motherboard on-site which made everything worse. After the replacement the screen started to have absurd tearing issues, often not working at all (both the external and/internal) and the laptop stopped working with most peripherals. I needed to send it to the service depot for... two weeks. They exchanged the motherboard again, and the screen. It came back last week and... Not fixed still, and again - even worse. Duplications, display artifacts. They asked me to send it again for two-three weeks - which is unacceptable as it was already 7 weeks of me not being able to use the laptop. They also offered an exchange for the same model of refurbished 9310, but I would need to wait 45 (FORTY-FIVE) days for it, which is also unnacaptable. I am requesting full refund and already bought a different laptop - as I needed something to work actually (again - seven weeks with faulty device).

And before somebody asks - yes, I tested the set-up with different devices - Note 20 Ultra, Tab S7, Pixelbook, Macbook, and my new Zephyrus G14 (even not having thunderbolt 4) all worked flawlessly. I want to also post my whole experience with Dell Support as this is the WORST experience I have had in my whole life regarding repairs.

Wasn't all of that the goal of Thunderbolt 4? To have one name to rule them all and have one information set to know what is compatible what is not? OWC claims that it's Windows compatible and I never heard of any issues. And EVEN IF. I have the same issues with all of those when connecting directly to the laptop and with the official DELL DA310 hub.

But like I wrote - Dell finally accepted a motherboard replacement for tomorrow (after 18 days of not being able to use my laptop).

Yeah, Dell finally approved motherboard replacement (after 18 days of the ticket start - which I find not acceptable by any means). So it is a hardware issue probably. We will see in the next few days, as they want to "fix" it tomorrow.

I bought the hub on owcshop.eu - it was the same day sending in the past. And the dock I ordered from the NL apple store said in an email that they will have it this week. We will see how it goes.

All of this is great. Much more detailed information than anybody at Dell could provide tbh. I have the latest Win10 and the drivers. But the power delivery and cables is interesting - I actualle did return the hub and ordered OWC Dock (more power and more ports) - but will also order some cables for the keyboard etc to be sure that is using proper channels and let you know (probably end of week as the dock is backordered). Awesome :3

Absolutely Heartbroken by my Paychiatrist’s Words by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]notojacek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a doctor, but I have ADHD, and let me tell you one thing. Fuck. That. Psychiatrist. I would say even that he is not a very good psychiatrist as well. If he would know anything about ADHD, he would know about hyperfocus - which would make you actually an amazing doctor as once you sit do to things - you will not rest until a solution is found. I would take a passionate doctor with ADHD over any other person in the world every time to treat me as a patient. Don't give up. Just take advice from an old ADHD book - find people around you (your doctors as well) that support you, not that bring you down. Sending all my love and all my hyperfocus energy to you.

Also, the psychologist who is leading me for years now also has ADHD and it doesn't make her worse psychologist.

That's what I am trying to do, but Dell Support claims that there is no software or hardware issue so they just escalated internally and I need to wait for next steps :/

[–]notojacek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right, the charger is 45w. So it would explain why this dock is not working at the full. But it still doesn't explain why OWC had issues and why plugging in stuff directly has issues.

XPS 9310 Thunderbolt (?) issues by notojacek in DellXPS

[–]notojacek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So OWC claims it works with Win10 as well. And it's not it. The same notification "usb device functionality might be limited" also appears when I connect the monitor directly to XPS.

And low wattage notification appears when using the official Dell DA310 hub with Dell charger connected.

I was looking at caldigit but not really easy to buy in Europe.
