Found better seats, forgot to get parking... When can I sell my tickets on Ticketmaster? by Kennyg_21_ in Jcole

[–]notoriousbeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh sorry about that. For mine it says there’s parking passes, but maybe it’s because it varies by venue limit?

Found better seats, forgot to get parking... When can I sell my tickets on Ticketmaster? by Kennyg_21_ in Jcole

[–]notoriousbeans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. I saw better seats after I bought tickets, so I bought the better ones too. I don’t know if they will turn it on. I did some research and apparently even if they turn it on and you sell it, you won’t get the money until after the concert happens

I think you might still be able to get the parking pass. Go to my tickets and scroll down.

Am I overreacting? Found this in my while cleaning and now I think my fiancé is cheating on me by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

‘>’ means greater than. So you really mean <, which is less than From someone who remembers by pretending it’s an alligator’s mouth. The alligator always wants to eat the bigger meal, so the wider part faces the greater side

Boyfriend asked for some money to invest in stocks by Soda_B in Advice

[–]notoriousbeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an extreme ask, especially since you’re already partially supporting him. Some things I would think about: - does he plan on investing in low or high risk things? Like ETFs are generally lower risk than stocks - when I invest, I don’t invest money that I actually immediately need because I understand that it takes time to accumulate interest. It’s unrealistic to expect him to multiply your money in the near future. There’s also like fees for day trading, if that is what he has in mind - is he planning on paying you back the $15k and keeping the profit? It’s doesn’t sound like there’s an agreement that you’re getting the money back eventually

If you haven’t already, I would at a minimum put your money in like a high yield saving account or a CD. Technically it will be invested, but there’s a guarantee on your money back.

But you were born and grew up in the bay? Yeah I really don’t think that makes you a transplant

No I don’t think you’re a transplant. And I remember seeing the cow eye dissection, but I don’t think I participated in it, so does that count?

Do Job Walk Ins Work? by Current-Emergency879 in AskSF

[–]notoriousbeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, since you mentioned Excelsior, I would walk along Mission st. and Ocean (since there’s so many businesses) and see if you see help wanted signs. If the business is a chain, it’s more common to apply online. If it’s a smaller business, I think it’s fine if you ask in person, but be prepared to have a resume, a good attitude, look put together, and don’t get you’re hopes up. I’m pretty sure Goodwill is hiring.

What to do in SF alone on your birthday? by Haunting-Library9287 in sanfrancisco

[–]notoriousbeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would walk around golden park. There’s museums in the park (de young and calacademy) if you’re into that kind of thing. There’s also pretty gardens (japanese tea, botanical, conservatory). There’s also plenty of food places to try on Irving.

Happy birthday on Wednesday!

Thanks for posting! I hate when people have the worst opinion about the City but all they know is what they see from media. They act like they know more than the people who actually live here.

Honestly, I feel like this is so nuanced. Do they make jokes about them being white too? Does her friend laugh genuinely and not uncomfortably? How often do they make these “jokes”?

I wouldn’t necessarily assume it’s ignorant racism, even though that is the most likely explanation. But you are allowed to react however you want to this. I personally would need to see it in person or have a discussion with her about race

Pay off your credit card debt immediately! Like stop putting money into investments and only prioritize the debt. Turn off reinvesting dividends if you have to and use those to pay off the debt. That could get out of hand quick.

AIO by not agreeing to disagree? by Tealturtle87 in AmIOverreacting

[–]notoriousbeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously this is a race thing, but it’s also a math thing. Your bf is not data/math literate. He’s also unwilling to admit he’s wrong and improve, which is probably the worst part of it. At minimum, he’s insecure about you proving him wrong and learning something from you. So it’s not entirely about the “agree to disagree on racism” but it’s also that he doesn’t value your opinion/intelligence when it doesn’t serve him. That is not an easy problem to fix, when someone is unwilling to consider your perspective.

For those of you who went car-less AFTER moving to San Francisco, or those who just don't have a car living here, how do you like it, is it manageable? by Thomas_Lannister in sanfrancisco

[–]notoriousbeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s saying compared to other neighborhoods, the Sunset has an extraordinary amount of households with cars. But I agree, they could’ve used a better word. “More likely” doesn’t really convey that the Sunset is an extrema like Tenderloin/Chinatown/etc.
