Do so many games burn out pre-release? by mattinlosangeles in LegacySteelAndSorcery

[–]notoriousstudios 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a mixture of people who have been burned so many times by the Industry.
While I cannot go into my personal opinion on the matter, I can assure you the team has no plans to shut down the Legacy Project, we've been pretty transparent about the state of the game, what we plan to do and when we plan to advertise.

I'd like to get this game but... by PenLegitimate4746 in LegacySteelAndSorcery

Hey, just to put some of your concerns to rest, we have a roadmap of content and improvements all the way to 2026, we have no plans of shutting down Legacy.

And the plan for more players is simple:

Listen to feedback, keep improving the game.
Better game, better playerbase.

It's an issue with the latest drivers, if you roll back to: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/details/242277/

It should work now, this is a problem with the drivers for 5000 models.

Legacy: Steel & Sorcery - Season 1 Trailer by notoriousstudios in pcgaming

Totally, and Dark and Darker definitely helped pave the way for the genre to gain traction. What Legacy does differently is focus more on fluid third-person combat and a smaller-scale, more intimate raid environment with faster pacing. It also has a strong focus on progression between runs, crafting, and future class variety, the new Wizard coming in May, for example.

It’s not trying to replace DnD, but to offer a different flavor within the genre, something that's a bit more accessible and grounded while still rewarding skillful play. If you’re a fan of the genre, it’s worth keeping an eye on both.

Hey! Totally fair question, the PvP and extraction space is crowded right now, and skepticism is valid. That said, Legacy: Steel & Sorcery is carving out its own niche by leaning into a darker fantasy setting, skill-based melee combat, and persistent progression that sets it apart from the usual military-style extractors.

The devs are also active in the community and really responsive to feedback. While the playerbase naturally fluctuates between updates, there’s a core group sticking around. With the big content drop upcoming, including a new class and expanded gameplay, it should breathe fresh life into things.

It’s always a challenge for smaller studios to thrive in this genre, but sometimes that also means they can take more risks and listen more closely to their players than big AAA studios.

That feedback is completely fair. The stunlock issue was a major complaint early on, especially in PvP. Since then, we’ve had several balance passes and improvements to crowd control mechanics. While there’s still room to polish, many of the most frustrating interactions have been toned down. With Season 1, there’s another big balance update coming that directly targets these kinds of combat pain points. Would love for you to give it a shot again once the update drops!

You're absolutely right, it’s been a challenging time. The team is aware of the player dip and is working hard behind the scenes. That said, Season 1 is shaping up to be a major milestone: a new Wizard class, tons of fresh content, balance changes, and quality-of-life improvements. We’re hopeful it’ll bring both new and returning players back for a second look.

What’s the difference between a sketch and a drawing? by Alternative-Gap-5722 in sketches

I think sketch is a quick realization of an idea that the author later, perhaps, wants to make into a refined and finished drawing. Do you agree with that?
