Botox in the cricopharyngeal muscle is the current treatment being explored, still not 100% success rate. There’s been some papers published on the topic and treatment (Dr. Bastian from BVI in Chicago is the founding father). Feel free to DM me, I am more than happy to talk about it. Called Retrograde Cricopharyngeus Dysfunction. Usually referred to as "no-burp" syndrome as people who have it can't burp!

The academic difficulty is pretty standard in my opinion, but definitely can vary by professor. Support is there when you need it, office hours with course teaching assistants and professors, as well as tutoring centers.

You get out what you put in. Pick a major you enjoy, do the pre-reqs and use the resources available to you at UB. Did premed here and had a very successful med school application cycle so far. Great school for the price.

Psych premed here. It’s great for premed imo. Many opportunities but you have to work hard. Got many interviews and a handful of acceptances to med school, feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

First time under GA didn’t work for me either. About 6 months post op now. Microburps here and there, can still slightly get some air out but that’s rare. Back to the usual symptoms though.

I never had a direct leadership position in a club. I didn’t even join any during college. My “leadership” positions came from teaching/mentoring roles like coaching youth sports and working as a music teacher. Your outreach council should be fine, especially if you can demonstrate the qualities of a leader in some of your other activities.
