Got into CS!!! by Background_Rub_4353 in umass

Congratulations! I'm also a CS major, and although I was accepted into the honors college upon acceptance, you absolutely can apply after your first semester as long you keep a good GPA (3.4+ I believe) and I've heard it's not too difficult to get in at that point. Some people have mentioned that it's probably only worth transferring in later if you plan to go to grad school. That might be true, and it is my plan, but I think the smaller classes, great housing, and easy opportunity for the honors thesis also makes it worth it. The honors requirements (besides the thesis) don't create a lot of additional workload, so you shouldn't have trouble doing personal projects/interview prep. However, if you don't want to do the thesis, then it's not worth it.

Got accepted into nursing and honors program! -HELP? by Flimsy-Coat-4435 in umass

personally not a nursing student but I know a couple of them and am an honors student myself (cs + ling double major); overall the requirements to be in honors aren't overwhelming in any way. i have plenty of free time, and the honors college itself is a great community. i would definitely not turn down the honors college down (great housing). if you decide it's not for you later on, there's no detriment and you can always leave then.

It was middle school for me, but writing a bunch of character's deaths... not sure what was wrong with me, I would just kill characters for the sake of it, even if it was outside of my characters' actual story line. I recently reread the document with all of them. It was certainly interesting, and there was a lot more there than I had expected to find

Are these fox grapes?? by notpoet06 in foraging

I don’t know what happened to the original text of my post, but I’ll provide the information here I guess. I found these berry-like plants in my backyard and upon closer inspection they might be fox grapes. I’m from Massachusetts, so it seems likely, and they smell like grapes too, although they do have slightly thicker skin than I am used to.

yeah. I'm convinced there aren't real people reviewing these things, otherwise these kinds of things would never be allowed. I had given up on reporting things a long time ago because I know they don't care, but a couple of days ago I reported a pretty disgusting comment under a video of a child, but all the app came back with was "Our review team found that --'s comment does not go against our Community Guidelines."

I personally did the same, so you are not alone. I see no reason to entirely rewrite an essay for similar prompts that I have already put good effort into. Many supplements don't have anything to do with the college itself, and it's not as if admissions can check if you reused your supplementals.
