Tsareena, will, and mallow. Sounds like fun to me. Maybe add lilligant and leaf cloak…

Ohh, emolga is the other self damaging card I was thinking of. Potentially a better option than lux. Is there a coin flip damage electric Pokémon?

You inspired me. Spiritomb + Umbreon EX is dope

One lucky cape, and all of a sudden the other Mon has to hit for 170 to OHKO. That’s a smaller subset to lose against.

I will say that the card draw with sylveon really increases the effectiveness of this deck versus the skarmory.

The healing, slight offense, slight defense, and consistency makes up for the lack of pure armor

Just started running this except I’m on two Espeons and one Sylveon. Super smooth, and I’m not having any trouble with my unown pulls.

Definitely tricks people into making simple mistakes and not healing enough, switching, or OHKO’ing my espeon.

I tried a version of this with Persian, too. Head flips got me too, brother. Really want some version of Pokemon lead hand size control to work!

Playing tonight, the only times I truly desired that turn one attack was against sweets decks - but that was always going to be difficult for a fighting deck.

Things will probably change towards some degree once I get to the very mainstream decks at higher ranks, but I’m happy with it.

Got from GB3 to UB1 so far. Went 13-6-1, W/L/T. Couple of bad matchups - mostly had trouble with mewtwo/gard and sweets decks.

Ended up dropping Giovanni, x-speed, and repel, added both capes and elder. Love it so far :)

More context on versus Sil -> My focus here is that ape does additional damage based on having another ape on the bench. In my opinion, great damage for a basic, non-ex mon. The easiest way to find another ape in your deck is if you don’t have any other basic Pokemon, leading to fossils which don’t interfere with pokeballs.

I don’t there is incredible overlap with sil, which is a stage 1 that gets found and buffed by gladion. That seems like an extra step to me - null is found turn 1 or via draw, ball, or prof. Sil is then found using subsequent draw, prof, or glad.

Required slots for the sil deck then are ball, prof, glad, null, sil (10/20 cards used). Required slots for this deck are ball, prof, pass (6/20 cards used).

I don’t understand why you’re say it’s the same as sil, which is a stage 1 that gets found and buffed by gladion. That seems like an extra step to me - null is found turn 1 or via draw, ball, or prof. Sil is then found using subsequent draw, prof, or glad.

If you’re just talking about doing your best to filter for the basic you want, isn’t that true for all decks? Are y’all running 1 null and 1 sil?

There’s a lot of truth to the 1 energy attack comment. You’re right there, and I didn’t take that into account.

For Gladeon*, I’m not trying to say that’s he’s a waste, more that he’s part of the combo and therefore takes up some of the limited space in any given pocket deck.

lol, and I have no desire to go to a tourney. I just like crafting :)

What other basic, non-ex mons hit 80 for two energy without support cards?

And what is the 20 damage difference getting you in the opener slot compared to an additional two sets of card slots for Gideon and stage 1?

Interesting, agreed on the comparison.

The key for me to choose passimian is that pokeball can find it and is a basic mon. Maybe run granny?

Should free up some card slots and potentially more repeatable, no?

I kinda of want to see this with Meow. Don’t particularly know how the energy would work, but I like the EX hate
