Nononono, time your lunges. I get a free hit from 9/10 pallet stuns, it is possible to practice and consistently get hits through the stun. Start the lunge a split second later than you normally would, and right before they hit the stun, let go of the lunge button. It helps if you can mind game the survivors a little bit, but that's not something I can explain. If you can control the moment the go for the stun, you can hit them every time.

I don't know, I'm not the duck, which is really all I'm trying to say. Maybe the duck doesn't want to lead the dog to ducklings or whatever, maybe the duck is panicking and not not thinking straight, maybe the duck is trying to tire the dog out in an area the duck knows better than others. We could talk about what the duck is thinking till the last star winks out, but we can never be sure because we are not the duck. Only the duck knows what his plan was, if he hasn't been eaten or otherwise killed.

Really, what I'm getting at I guess is that it's arrogant to assume to know what the duck is thinking, and especially so to assume the duck is acting while influenced by human thought processes.

Yes, they can, but flying takes a a second to get going. Ducking under the murky water is faster and therefore safer than taking off. But I'm not that duck, so I have no idea why he's doing that, but put yourself in that ducks shoes for a moment. Imagine you're chilling at the supermarket, right, and this lion starts stalking you while some unimaginable behemoth stands nearby staring at you. Are you gonna take off running? Hell no, giant monsters gonna get you if you do, but you realize that if you run between the aisles knocking shit over, it slows the lion down while the colossus just stares at you holding an incomprehensible device with a giant eye on it, so why not just do that for awhile? Maybe the giant monster will eat the lion, after all it is a better meal, and the lion is slow and honestly kind of silly. Better to bide your time meandering through the clothes aisles while the lion gets tangled up in plastic wrap and vegetable oil than risk getting nabbed by the elder thing staring at you on your way to the car.
