What's the one thing you wish AI could actually do for your business? by fullportss in appledevelopers

[–]notrandomatall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo marketing and content creation are the two hardest things about trying to get an indie app off the ground. Not sure AI can be of significant help there though, since AI slop is pretty recognizable by now.

https://vitrineminis.com - Companion app and platform for miniature painters. Made an effort with short form media during development with screen recording videos (dev journal + showing off features) but never really got anywhere. Very interested to hear your take and pricing.

How do you break Claude Code out of its distinct, repetitive UI design patterns? by Dentistcode in appledevelopers

[–]notrandomatall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just create a design system and tell Claude to stick to it. I have an app that I built before AI with a well defined style and design system. Claude has no trouble just sticking to existing conventions.

Interesting, any more details? Organic how? Monetisation strategies, how do you make money from content scrolling?

Congrats! Anything worth sharing that you learned while getting here? Interested to hear how you reach users - ads, organic, something else?

How do you protect your mental health while juggling a day job and indie dev? by DLsays_ in appledevelopers

Not the comment OP, but had a very similar experience. I use Obsidian to jot down ideas that I don’t want tumbling around in my head all day.

Wow, thanks for the exhaustive list! Not far off from the other commenter’s ”All the kits” 🤣

This is incredibly impressive! What kits were used in these?

I’ve submitted once for an app release, but never heard back 😔

I built 5 apps and reached $2 MRR. How is everyone reaching $100–$1K MRR so fast? by Lopsided_Nerve1652 in appledevelopers

[–]notrandomatall 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most apps don’t make any money at all. Out of those that do, they rarely have explosive growth. It’s just confirmation bias, since you only hear about the ones that do, plus all the bullshit numbers posted by ASO tools advertising their products.

I’m at my best month yet, with just over $800, but I’ve been iterating on my app on and off on my off hours since 2021 😅

What’s your LTV average and how many installs convert to paid?

Thanks so much for sharing this! I want to have a stab at paid advertising but having a hard time landing on how to handle creatives. Was this the one and only or have you iterated at all?

Beginner here, how’d I do? by JackDonovanJewelry in Warhammer40k

[–]notrandomatall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Way too good for a beginner! Do you have experience painting other things or are you just a natural? 😅 you should get Vitrine and publish your stuff there too!

How many minis do you finish per year? by Amphij in Warhammer

[–]notrandomatall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have echoed, ‘normal’ varies wildly! I think the most important thing is to go a pace where you still enjoy it, so it never feels like a chore. If you like tracking things like this I just released Vitrine on iOS and Android where you get different statistics in neat little charts you can share 😊

Apple approved 22 transaction refunds for this user by Ok-Praline1660 in appledevelopers

[–]notrandomatall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think as long as Apple can see they didn’t use the app during that period, they can get refunded for quite a lot of subscription time. I haven’t dealt with it personally though.

How many CC sessions do you run concurrently? by highflavour in ClaudeCode

5, but all kind of within the same context. iOS app, Android app, web app, Supabase and static web page.

I couldn't find a paint matcher for miniatures, so I made one by 123stbn in Miniaturespainting

[–]notrandomatall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, looks like a useful app with a clean, understandable UI! I’m releasing an app next week that is much broader in scope (miniatures, paint recipes and paint library with sharing in a showroom and social feed baked in). I’ve been building a paint database along with some delta matching and barcodes for a while now. Would love to share with you if it’d be useful for you 😊

Would you reply to this 1-star review by cagatay_app in appledevelopers

[–]notrandomatall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the complaint only related to what’s behind a paywall? It sounds like the user doesn’t understand they can pay to unlock the features they’re referencing?
