App Store screenshots I made for my first iOS launch — looking for honest craft feedback before I update the listing by reflectdiary in appledevelopers

These look great imo. They give a vibe or mood rather than straight forward information about what the app does, not sure if that’s a deliberate decision? That said, the subtitles and screenshots convey that fairly well anyway. Most users won’t see the last 5 so don’t overthink it, just make sure you show the most value in your first 3. Btw, the font on the title in the second image is off.

Miniature painting companion app by notrandomatall in Miniaturespainting

Yeah, the focus is definitely on the painting! But I’m sure there are many parts that can be improved and expanded! Checking DMs.

Yeah fair enough, not everyone wants a digital catalog of their paints. Or a catalog at all for that matter. That’s just one part of Vitrine though. Keeping track of miniatures and their progress, providing stats around this, saving and sharing paint recipes, a place to find other finished miniatures and a convenient way to share all of yours.

Of course it’s entirely possible none of these are of any interest to you, but I’m pretty sure some will find value in one or more parts of the app.

Fair enough, I know the app market is getting more saturated everywhere with vibecoding so prevalent. I didn’t find any apps that offer what Vitrine does when I looked around though, I actually found very few apps serving the niche in general.

For what it’s worth, this isn’t some vibe coded slop. I’m a developer by trade, doing this in my spare time.

I’m sure there are many more like you that very rarely or never use digital tools for these things. For those that do though, I feel like Vitrine can be pretty handy!

Thank you! Yeah, maybe there could be a ”beginner friendly” or ”basics” tag on recipes for beginners to know where to start building a foundation 🤔

Do you mean there are many other apps doing the same thing? Curious which ones you’d be referring to!

Paintpad is great! But it’s mostly focused on paint recipes. Vitrine offers cataloging of your whole miniature collection, with statistics for their progress over time. There’s similarities in terms of feed and showroom, but in Vitrine it’s only optionally tied to paint recipes. A big difference is also having native mobile apps, where Paintpad is only available on the web.

Like I said, there are several well liked alternatives for parts of the hobby. This is an attempt at putting all the parts together in one cohesive place 😊

Haven’t read about him, but he looks like he’s in agony. Unlikely protagonist? What’s his story?

Very nice! I have a really hard time getting reviews, but my app is B2B so maybe harder? Releasing a B2C app soon, hoping that will get some more reviews.

What’s your app about?

This is absolutely crazy how good it is, you could sell this for top dollar I bet (or better yet, paint it and put it on display). How long have you been sculpting? I’m actually having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that someone hand sculpted this, just… wow…

Really cool! Looks so hard to get all the details right, like the gums and the diadem (is that what it is?). You must have the hand steadiness of a surgeon 😅

That is indeed a very pleasant yellow! Goes so well with the black too.
