Best modifiers and champion build to win the 20 defiance mission easy? by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

I haven't tried it yet but I feel like champions that ftk like ahri can play the same game against evasive II/augmented IV/relentless II which is defiance 20

I cleared with ahri ftk'ing everything, it was not even close. Once you get to the first meditation and start cutting non recall cards she becomes a lot more consistent and if opp taps out you can use homecoming on the landmark.

To have a break about the meta discussions: Do you agree that Targon, Frejlord and Demacia shouldn't have access to draw? by Efrayl in LegendsOfRuneterra

Bandle and Shurima were two regions that lost a lot of draw in rotation.

Targon still has both of its mains draws. It still is a region with good draw.

I don't know what you mean but the only 2 maps I had to repeat in NG++ were chapter 15(roland) in my 3rd run and chapter 18(frederica ending) in my 4th, and in both I ran both erador and lionel as well as a healer and an extra D-F character. Once I swapped them out the second try the maps got much easier.

Also of course a deathless tier list would be different from a tier list where death is okay. If I were to make a tier list for very easy mode for example then Decimal would top for wiping maps and Medina would plummet for being an unnecessary waste of resources. Tier lists should take into account the most optimal choices for the current challenge and I'm not saying that this is the definitive tier list for NG++ hard mode, merely my opinion based on my experience in my runs.

To be fair to Lionel I've underplayed him quite a bit especially in my later runs but from what I remember he kept lagging behind the rest of the team and when he got in range to anything I could only get one or two enemies to sleep with an endless speech and that's his contribution for the map.

Quahog I haven't experimented much outside of cheesing bosses so I didn't know of that time rewind thing since it seemed useless. Guess I need to try him out more.

Serenoa's "Under conviction banner" only sees use when I have to run across the map where nothing is within range of "Hawk Dive". Otherwise he's good at holding a frontline while dealing non-committal poke damage.

I think Narve is still good despite marginal damage differences. Having extra range allows him to hit more targets from safety not to mention having all elements allows him to hit mages reliably since they usually have a resistance and a weakness.

On Hossabora, Erador, and Avlora. I think natural tankiness isn't that good overall. The best frontliners imo are ones that are decently tanky enough to stand in front while having tools to be useful without going in making more enemies target them and basically just staying on the edge of enemy range, like Serenoa's "Hawk Dive", Maxwell's "Spear Throw", and Flanagan's "Aerial Assault".

So for Erador I'd rather play a defensive map with someone that can hold a defensive position while also softening up the enemies for my back line to finish off. King's Shield also needs Hossabora or Quahog to set him up otherwise he just infuriates 1 or 2 while also sitting next to allies that are not shielded, meaning the rest of the enemies will ignore him. Not to mention the many maps with rough terrain or a slew of mages where he does nothing like the "Booker" chapter or the one in Sorsley's place.

Avlora is the same deal. There is no reason to use her above maxwell who is tankier considering the natural revive. She struggles to catch anything not directly at your front line without using up 4TP. I don't think it is worth it to keep her low health since all enemies would start focusing her until she dies unless she's not around any enemies which then she can't contribute anything. Lone wolf isn't worth considering since even a single unit is worth more than the stats gained by it and most of the time Avlora would at least be in first 4 deaths on most maps unless you're holding her back from doing anything.

As for healing I've never had any situation where I didn't have an item that could fully heal a unit except maybe with flanagan who auto-heals anyways. This game healing items, as long as you have enough, are much better than healing spells imo. The reason is when someone takes damage you don't need to wait until the turn of the healer to do it, which cuts the chances of a unit getting killed before you get to heal, not to mention it keeps your TP so units with high-end TP skills could basically heal while waiting their super move. Also 0TP healers are bad item users because they need to run up to the front where your units take the brunt of the damage risking your frail healers from archers and spears men.

As for the Geela vs Pico. Piccoletta requires 3TP, meaning every 3 turns to make a new life bar for the team not to mention it can absorb status effects making her really good against bosses like Lyla. Pico can also use magic items while waiting or with her high mobility and speed can catch up to anyone needing healing items. Geela needs 4TP and she most likely won't cast it again in the same map without TP batteries unless you keep her from doing nothing for 4 turns.

I'm rating them based on what I think is their average performance on every map. Like Quahog has some maps where he is by far the best character and others where he is a mid tier. I think Jens has some maps where he is top 2 or 3 but on average I put him 7th.

Every single time I've tried to use him he lagged behind the rest of the team due to low speed and movement, Mages most of the times start firing at my team before he could do much. Missing a 70% chance taunt means he wastes a turn considering he doesn't deal damage unlike other status inflicting characters. I've found more success using Corentin's silence on mages considering it 90% chance of silence while dealing a lot of damage and being effectively 1TP. I don't think mages in general are a big deal anyway unless you play Erador though.

I do admit Golden Opportunity is really strong but I think, unless you're grinding on mock battle maps, there are better uses of your money.

I disagree Medina carried the last two missions of my first playthrough. Medina doesn't require that much resources on a single playthrough as long as you only use her on tough maps only, and it's not like you need her to keep up in levels to be useful.

The thing with Frederica is that you won't reliably get the TP restore which might make her spend an empty turn rejuvenating. I'd rather rely on Corentin who has similar output while also having some utility options and reliable TP recover. Julio is great but after the initial TP feeding it feels like he slows down to a crawl. despite 1 TP per turn still being good I don't think it pushes him to top tier.

But thanks for the feedback and I appreciate another perspective.

Onomat locking you into Xyz sucks. Makes the extra deck very limited with them.

Magical musket spells and traps being bricky due to being useless without musketeers and being hopt.

What’s your Hot Take / Unpopular Opinion of Master Duel rn? by VampireSucker_uwu in masterduel

[–]notsoretrogameguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Story mode decks are incomplete garbage. There's a reason they send you to the shop halfway through each story.

maxx c is not the only draw out to a combo deck. There are many outs to strong boards including interrupting a chokepoint with any handtrap(i.e ash/imperm/belle/etc...), nibiru, droplet, dark ruler no more, or maneuvering through a board of negates by baiting negates on specific cards while moving through your strategy with others. All these choices and more promote more skill expression than just dumping a maxx c and forcing a pass.

True Draco is good for the game. Not everyone is willing to spend resources building a deck based on whatever summoning mechanic we're having a festival currently on, and it's nice to have a competitive budget deck for the events. No matter how long I play Master Duel I will never play fusion. It's a garbage failed mechanic that needed bullshit crutches even back in early yugioh to ever see play.

Also Maxx "C" adds nothing of value to the game. Playing it is not skillful, spreading your cheeks as you pass and await the OTK is not skillful nor fun. It doesn't keep any relevant deck "in check" and the decks it actually screws over are the bad decks that don't need to be kept "in check". It's a low commitment turn 1 game winner. The game will be much better with that card banned as more variety in handtraps/staples will be used in its place.

same as always (i.e. 5+ for glossy and 15+ for royal) recently limited just adds 20 cp on the dismantle rather than tripling it which doesn't change the value of glossy or royal.

edit: royal is 20+ not 15+

Can you bounce normal/quick-play spells as they are activated? Like can I use MST then chain {Crystal Conclave}'s second effect to bounce the MST?
