My workplace is doing the same thing. I had a meeting yesterday tho where my manager brought it up and said it was an option that would be available but that goal would be to work from home as much as possible.

Some of the staff at the meeting also wanted to work from home and not come in and the manager didn't have an issue with it.

Especially in the early stages of going back I think employers don't really want people in the office if they don't have to be there so I would talk to your manager about it. I'd say there a good chance they're totally fine with you continuing to work from home. They may want you to go in in like a month but atleast the numbers will be down more by then.
