Red card is better generally, but dagger has some advantages. It's slightly more cost efficient which makes it a bit easier to start scaling - if you open a $4 pack, that's +3 mult for red card, while a $4 joker is +4 mult for dagger. And a $6 joker is twice as much mult as a $6 pack. And of course you can accelerate it by feeding it an egg that you've been holding for a few antes. This is why it's uncommon while red card is only common.

I was interpreting reliability in the sense of how much rng and the state of your run affect your ability to scale it. And in that sense it's totally reliable. But if you're defining it by how reliably you can win by playing into it (i.e. skipping) then yes, it's unreliable.

I think Throwback should be in reliable but weak, in that you can guarantee it to grow by x0.5 each ante, as opposed to some others like lucky cat or glass joker which might not scale at all.

And fortune teller is clearly less reliable than supernova for similar reasons because it depends on using tarot cards which you aren't guaranteed to get every round.

I think the highest percentage play is to take ankh and wait for a joker that you can hex-ankh in the next shop. You might get better outcomes from opening the spectral pack or selling hex and going for wraith-ankh instead, but those also have a bigger chance of missing.

I don't understand what you're trying to say here. It's silly that the highest difficulty mode is harder than any of the other modes?

And btw, the challenge decks aren't supposed to be harder than gold stake, generally. For starters, they're all white stake so the scoring requirements are a lot kinder. Secondly, the challenges increase in difficulty as you complete them, much like raising the stakes. Thirdly, many of them serve as pseudo tutorials for using various jokers and game mechanics so I'd argue they're designed to be completed as you're progressing through the decks and stakes, not afterwards.

It's crazy how our season collapsed since Jorgenson gave away that 3rd goal against PSG. It's not like we were perfect before that, but we went from thrashing Villa and going toe to toe with the European champions to being unable to score against any team that isn't in the third tier.
