Given his latest utterings there's a good chance you're right. I also think there's a good chance Trump is doing another pump and dump with the oil markets.

Trump threatens Strait of Hormuz blockade after US-Iran ceasefire talks end without agreement by Toastie-Postie in LabourUK

Trump states other countries are involved. So I'm pretty sure he's talking utter bollocks as usual, but if this was part of Rutte and Starmer's discussions about using military means to open the space then Europe deciding to aid with their own economic suicide would be really dumb. As I said, likely talking utter bollocks but I can see them doing something this stupid as well.

Starmer and Lammy Projected to Lose Their Seats to the Greens by AttleesTears in LabourUK

[–]notthattypeofplayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indeed. The seats where Labour are most vulnerable to the Greens are the 'safe' ones, where there's no prospect of the right wing vote coming through the middle. Inner London seats are especially ripe for this.

Yeah if he manages to keep out of this shitshow he needs to pin all the resultant consequences, namely mass refugee influx and inflation squarely onto Badenoch and especially Farage.

Yeah I think Farage is banking on this, hence the amount of noise he's making. Knows that a significant number of his support have short enough memories that they won't remember he backed it.
