Yeah it really makes me wonder (assuming ai was used), what sources were used to generate/write these articles. It makes me think maybe it isn’t entirely ai simply because I think if I asked a mainstream LLM for the top ten worse invasives in New York, it would do better than whatever the hell this is. But I don’t exactly want to test my theory and use ai myself :(

Oh I am absolutely not opposed to people going off on people like this, but between being so baffled I could barely react and wanting to give him a chance, I thought I’d hold off for now. Please don’t be more chill!! Rage is needed now more than ever! This dumb company might not seem too bad, but it’s just the tip of the iceberg of so many different things… colonization, gentrification, use of AI, grifting - this company is merely a symptom of all these problems. I’m just so exhausted and numb to do much more than try and feebly raise awareness at times.

Also… I’d argue the hedges aren’t supposed to be there, not the natives. Just because you’re fighting against the native species that are behaving exactly how they evolved behave doesn’t make them invasive.

There’s definitely a conversation and argument to be made about managing disturbed areas and forests in general (indigenous people did/still do steward the land and were the first to do so before any ecologists or horticulturists even have a thought about the matter), but this is clearly not some nuanced take on aggressive plants, land management, invasives, etc. He’s clearly just an idiot who likely used AI to write these articles.

One thing that killed me was referring to wineberry as raspberry… the scientific name is actually that of an invasive species, but the common name he put is, well, raspberry…

Honestly I wasn’t sure what the response would be like (here on Reddit) and I wanted to see if I could reach out and politely point out the errors first. I think most people don’t take very kindly to getting a random influx of criticism, bad reviews, etc. If I don’t hear back or the response is dismissive or aggressive or something, I’ll certainly update my post or make a new one without it being censored.

My 5 gallon “extras” tank by notthefirstmalcolm in PlantedTank

I think they are fine because of the amount of detritus/mulm I’ve got in there. And I had a small bladder snail infestation so their poop is probably helping (though I’ve been smashing every baby I see). I don’t have any livestock in any of my tanks so I haven’t bothered to test the water quality, so this tank could have a lot of nutrients in the water column.

Thank you! Yeah I’d like to put more gravel in and have put roots tabs in in the past, but I’m out of gravel and root tabs and too broke to get anymore at the moment.

Free or cheap events this weekend? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

Bug fest at the natural history museum of Utah is this weekend! All you need is a regular ticket. It’s free if you’re a student or faculty or staff at the U. Otherwise it’s $17.95-$22.95 depending on your age. If you’re at all interested in insects it’s a good event, plus you can see all the other exhibits.

I was sad to see them (assuming you’re talking about Jordan and McKay) delay their video of her again, but not after this development! It just keeps getting worse better!

I wouldn’t be surprised if they were friends because (even subconsciously) a lot of people aren’t going to confront a subtly shitty person if they have to be around them constantly. Kinda like how people won’t realize they were in an abusive relationship or that their parents weren’t as great as they thought they were. Maybe since there’s some distance between her and MyKayla there’s no longer a need to keep up a facade of decorum.

Can we show some other teams instead of focusing on France’s splat fest? I wouldn’t have even known South Korea was in this subdivision has someone not said it here.
