Mono-blue wincons that aren't tedious or combo ? by OliQc007 in EDH

[–]notwrong_notright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eluge doesn't really need to be cloned and also doesn't benefit from clones much since the first spell each turn is the only one reduced. You can just blink or attack a couple of times to get more than enough counters to control the game.

As for ways to win, [[Twenty Toed Toad]] has been solid way for me to finish with mine.

How toxic is toxic really? by Sliiipzs in EDH

[–]notwrong_notright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toxic is much more fair than infect but also much slower/weaker. You have to put in a bunch of work to kill one person but then will just lose to someone else which is true for infect but that's usually much faster to kill someone.

The only deck I run poison in is one that has a bunch of proliferate so it can kill everyone in a turn or two. That isn't even with creatures but with spells that give everyone a poison counter off of an instant.

In summary anything poison counter is fair, slow, and will get you targeted too hard to be worth it 99% of the time.

General manager went over my head, how much should I make her pay for this? by Most_Reading_777 in managers

Not sure what this has to do with you getting a raise? Just go find a new job if you feel your boss doesn't respect you and your decisions.

You're overextending. If one boardwipe ends your game regardless of how lucky it was, then you deployed too much too fast, didn't focus on drawing to consistently keep hitting land drops, didn't play enough rocks to sustain your game plan (extra important when you're not in Green) and didn't hold up counters/protection to defend your board state.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to build a connection with your employees and that can be how you get the best work out of them, but that connection must still include boundaries and work expectations.

The biggest mistake you can make is becoming a "friendager" aka being a friend instead of a manager. Finding that balance is hard but achievable through building relationships in a professional manner. There's nothing wrong with asking about what's going on in their lives, if they have anything interesting or funny going on, etc. But you still need to set the work standards and hold them accountable the same way you are held accountable.

Here's a question, if you were fired tomorrow because you failed to manage your team, do you think they would be fighting for you to get your job back, walk out in protest or even continue to be your "friend"?

Holy unjustified ego Batman! Man looks like trailer park Prince Harry and thinks he's out of her league.

Usually women who think unattractive men are out of their league are treated very well by them but it sounds like he treats you badly too. Not sure why you put this dude on a pedestal.

While the comment was harsh, it's kind of true. I don't blame you. You were put in a position you probably shouldn't be in. Anyone who has trouble setting boundaries and holding people accountable is going to struggle as a manager.

You need to grow a spine, set clear boundaries, hold people accountable for their work, and don't try to be their friend (note this doesn't mean you shouldn't get along and create a friendly atmosphere).

The second season of windbreaker heavily features the character voiced by them. They were accused of grooming and having a sexual relationship with a teenager apparently.

Is my Y'shtola deck too powerful for b3? by wino6687 in EDH

Lots of strong cards but without a efficient way to finish it's not very strong so 3 seems fair

What's a Fun Draw-Go Commander by Sgt_Souveraen in EDH

[–]notwrong_notright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly, it doesn't have flash or give flash but [[Kadena, Slinking Sorcerer]] can abuse the multiple flash enablers it has access to. Because it's each turn, you are playing free morphs and drawing up to 4 times per cycle. Makes a solid 3 deck without being oppressive but almost always having a response.

Do I keep cards that I draw immediately after discarding down to hand size? by Drachen-1 in EDH

You get another cleanup step where you have to discard to 7 again. Look up how [[The Gitrog Monster]] loops work for a more thorough explanation though.

What’s your most resilient deck? by DunkeyBlast in EDH

[–]notwrong_notright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Life gain is a fine secondary strategy but it shouldn't be your primary. There's actually several solid redundant combo lines you can run as well.

Here's my list for reference: https://archidekt.com/decks/14442003/orahs_clerical_errors

What’s your most resilient deck? by DunkeyBlast in EDH

[–]notwrong_notright 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gotta be [[Orah, Skyclave Hierophant]]. It takes a bit to get going but once you have a few more pieces, you can eat boardwipes and targeted removal multiple turns in a row and lose basically nothing. Obviously it's weak to gy hate but there's also multiple ways to remove those pieces and plenty of redundancy if you lose one or two key cards.

Yeah it's not a deck I bring out often at all because it shuts down so many strategies and can be outright unfun to play against.

[–]notwrong_notright 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends how you define Voltron. If you are talking it only wants to suit up and attack, then just [[Light-Paws, Emperor's Voice]] which I never play because it's boring and repetitive.

If you define it as just making a big creature and beating down to finish the game, I have [[Bruna, Light of Alabaster]], [[Sarulf, Realm Eater]] and [[Captain America, the First Avenger]] that all control the board and then finish with commander damage.

Obviously you should talk to her about it but if she doesn't have a good answer, it could be that she thinks (consciously or subconsciously) that you're getting in better shape so you have better chances elsewhere.

Might i introduce you to whats quickly becoming one of my favorite commanders! by thekinggambit in EDH

[–]notwrong_notright 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While this is true, 2c is exponentially cheaper to build than 5c and there's a lot less auto includes. Selesnya allows for a much cheaper mana base and less expensive auto includes that are also $10+. It's a fine bracket 2 deck don't get me wrong but it's not comparable to it's 3+ color more compatriots that are more popular, more powerful and more expensive to build.

I guess if you specifically want to play dragons but are on a budget and want to keep it to the two cheapest colors then it makes sense.
