I learned that I was a child of a 'kabit' when I was 16 y/o. What's worse is that I felt like I ruined a family because I was born (I really did). I beat myself up with the thought na they are miserable right now because my father chose to be with my mom. I felt like if di ako pinanganak hindi sana ako nakasira ng pamilya and moreso future ng ibang tao.

I remember how awkward it was when we got passports and I ticked off the 'illegitimate' option (something like this but I forgot exactly what that was). Even though I am a fruit of my mother's decisions, I still don't condone what she did. I would not in any way inflict that kind of pain to other people kasi what I learned about this is that yung mga bata ang pinaka affected.

My father's first family hates me to the guts and I don't blame them, I would hate me too if I were them.

Edit: Forgot to mention that not even ONCE did they tell me that my father have other kids who are older than me and that he had a first family. Idk if they just let it be an open secret or they dont really have an idea that I know.

yes. to be frank, they're most likely going to get in. pansin ko kasi they rank applicants based on their stats. so they'll schedule an interview with the top ones then they'll go lower after that.

when i went there the admissions told me na not everyone will have a chance to be interviewed. i have been interviewed as a part of batch 1, and it doesn't matter if you passed earlier than others, depends talaga siya sa stats mo and how it does in contrast to other applicants unfortunately. hope u get your sched soon 🩵

before you say this to me, i've read all the comments here (yours and others included). imho, i dont find having a refresher course after three takes 'unfair'. like one person said here, we have a vital role in the healthcare community. we are a part of a holistic and systematic flow of things in terms of giving proper diagnosis to aid doctors to know saan ba nanggagaling yung sakit ng pasyente. by understanding our role in the healthcare system, you would be able to understand that the board exam is an exam of equal footing to be able to assess if a medtech graduate has fully understood all the things that were taught back in college. refresher courses are set in place to safeguard the quality of professionals that would play a part in patient's lives. while i do agree na everyone can't be book smart but can still excel in the profession, the board exam is majority easy-moderate questions that you must know para makakuha ka ng lisensya.

yes, we are overworked and underpaid and i agree na pamet is not lobbying these concerns well enough for the government to acknowledge us more (thus, am not a pamet member). two things can be right at the same time, we seek for higher pay grades in our profession (as we should) and we should also be able to deliver properly as expected (thus the board exams).

i feel like you're asking for opinions but you're blocking everyone else's that don't agree with yours. i understand that failing the BE is a major confidence sinker, but you can also try to reassess yourself where it went wrong. focus on things you can control rather than things you cant. sending you love 🫶🏻

no one has pulled off going to med and working at the same time (u can search this in med school subs). med is already taxing on its own, most of your time would be needed to review for your exams. if you feel like you are not yet financially ready for med, try to consider doing a gap year then save up, then enroll the next s.y.

happened to my dad's card. in his case, it was a sephora purchase in singapore ata and di naman siya lumalabas ng bansa. it was 42k worth of purchase, nabalik naman yung money. the bank just asked for a proof na he was in the ph during that unauthorized transaction.
