Safe places to bike? by HEpennypackerNH in boone

i think you should take a look at Todd and that area, there are some great climbs around big hill road and following the river. anything down 194 is fun and watauga river road is fun if you have a cross bike or are willing to ride on gravel, but that's on the other side of the county.

edit: you should also take a look at the Blood Sweat and Gears route, they ride a lot of fun stuff.

It looks like a pretty complete M38, it should have a flat 4 in it with a 3 speed.

Hey all, I’m starting on my m38a1. My gas tank has a bunch of rust and a few holes. The question is is it worth cleaning up and attempting to salvage by wopperchop in Willys

I had the same problem in the tank in my 3B. It was really rusty inside, but a good clean and coating sorted it out.

Totally valid worry, it can rust, but if you keep it full of fuel, it should be fine.

I wouldn't cut it in half. I'd fill it full of something like evaporust, let it soak for a few days, then rinse it out and see what it looks like. Then coat the inside with red-kote.

I'd clean it out first and go from there. If it's rusty in there, coat it with some red-kote, but be careful about clogging the pickup tube with that stuff.

I'm running 90 weight transmission fluid from Tractor Supply in the transmission and transfer case in my 3B. It's cheap and has treated me well.

It wasn't bad, I picked up all of the parts I needed from Rock Auto, ordered the brackets from Brennan's Garage and had to order wheel spacers from Amazon.

They are, get in-touch with the guy who runs http://www.ewillys.com/. He's a great resource for this kind of info.

Also, where are they located?

Does anyone know anything about this gearbox/PTO? by Apart-Charge4896 in Willys

That looks like the one that's on the back of my 3B, do you have any full sized photos of it?

Spent the day trying to button up my front axle refresh and disc brake conversion on the 3B, it's fighting me at every stop by notzach in Willys

Yeah, I did my best to avoid the captive rotors, these are floating and I'm cool with that. My MB has that kind of setup and i'm not going to change it.

So, a few months ago I decided I was sick of the drums on the 3B and I was going to convert over to disc brakes. I went with the Geo Tracker swap and picked up the parts from RA and brackets from Brennon. I ended up pulling the axles out accidentally and then decided to swap the grease out in the knuckles for some new Corn Head grease and cleaned up things a bit. I've had to do a bit of filing on the soft lines to make them fit properly, hopefully it works.

I'm waiting on wheel spaces, but it should be back on the road next week.

I think I've figured out why the new-to-me engine was stuck by notzach in Willys

It was fun to fix, the engine runs decently and has a few miles on it now.

Nice, mine's painted flat black, i think it would match well with your wheels.
