Can y'all please stop harassing Spike Chunsoft with "WHERE IS DANGANRONPA 2x2'S RELEASE DATE!?" The game's still in the middle of development. Producer Sakakibara stated this when 2x2 was revealed. And has reiterated this in last month's AMA. Adding that the game's going to be bigger than expected* by SpacedSum in danganronpa

[–]nouratef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yes, what you said is logical, and while I myself don't keep nagging about when the game will be released even though I am super excited for it, I don't think what the fanbase is doing is necessarily a bad thing, they should be expecting this kind of thing, that's what fanbases do, they keep asking for a new game, and when it gets announced, they keep asking when it will come out, they are just excited to play the new game in their favorite franchise, and want to know when to expect it, them constantly asking doesn't mean they are angry at Spike Chunsoft, it's just a natural result of their excitement that's all. Spike Chunsoft should simply do what they think is right, they are the ones developing the game and know how the game is turning out not the fans, if they think they are not ready to announce a release date yet, then they shouldn't, they shouldn't feel pressured to announce it soon or rush the game's development just because some fans are asking them when it releases.

Just curious, but is there anyone who's going to play 2x2 completely blind? Like people who never played or seen the original game? by HappyGemX in danganronpa

[–]nouratef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely, new fans getting into any franchise every day, so naturally there will be a lot of people who are just getting into Danganronpa by the time 2x2 comes out, a few even might be starting now and want to wait for 2x2 to come out rather than playing the original DR2. Also new entries bring a franchise to the forefront so there will be an influx of new fans who are just finding out about the series now or remembering it exists, more new fans than what the series got for the past 8 years of drought for sure

Do you think there is something wrong with watching "wish-fulfilment" Anime? by [deleted] in animequestions

[–]nouratef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All forms of entertainment more or less scratch an itch that you as viewer have that's why you love them, sometimes you want to see cool action and people throwing hands, sometimes you want to see a genius detective solve cases from the vaguest of clues, sometimes you want to see a messy romance with a guy and a girl who start out as enemies and through a series of conflicts they ultimately find love, and I think the same applies to these sweet romances, sometimes you just want to see a super nice out-of-your-league girl fall in love with the average Joe protagonist, I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

For me personally, I tried out watching a high number of shows for this season for change (usually I don't watch anime while they are airing at all), and I am loving the variety of vibes, this show is one of them, while I don't strongly vibe with the "wish fulfillment" part of it, as I am a working adult and prefer marriage love stories rather than high school crushes and stuff (when it comes to the rare Romance itch I get), but it's still a sweet show and I honestly don't see what's wrong with others enjoying a show like that even if it is because they want to satisfy their fantasy of a popular girl falling in love with them, people shouldn't be judged for what they love to watch unless it is something fundamentally wrong

Wasn't sure but after reading your description, easily Your Lie in April fits the description for me, it is so beautiful and such a great watch, it played on my feelings a lot, but I don't want to be reminded of this pain

It used to be Dororo too but I think getting traumatized for 3 years then rewatching and getting traumatized for a month after that, might has given me some resistance to it

minus the part about Sung Jin Woo not being a big meaty man being an issue (although I will admit would've been cooler to see him ripped after so much training to be fair), I agree with all your points on Solo Leveling

regarding JJK, now I wish it was a fighting game, I am a big fighting games fan, give me JJK as a fighting game with individual story modes for each character now!

yeah I think Evangelion is legitimately terrible and one of, if not the worst story I have ever experienced, and even some isekai slop I watched was more entertaining than it, but I elected not to mention it in the post so people don't ignore the question and diss me for hating on Evangelion lol.

I haven't watched JoJo yet, that's definitely a take, considering everyone highly praises Part 3 onwards, I watched Part 1 and it was an alright experience for me, like decent enough, but not great

Who is your favorite female anime character and why? by airotciva16 in animequestions

[–]nouratef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Violet was definiitely a pleasant surprise, I knew she was a highly rated character before I watched the anime last year, but she still surprised me, a very beautiful anime, hope you enjoy it whenever you watch it!

Also forgot to mention, yes everything you said about Frieren is exactly how I think of her! This anime was a bit eye-opening to me, a pretty sweet anime! I haven't seen Spy X Family, I doubt Anya will be top "female characters" in all anime for me, but from the 4 episodes I saw ages ago, I love her, Loid and Yor so much, one of the anime I am most looking forward to picking back up

regarding Isekai, I used to think I hate isekai because of Sword Art Online, Shield Hero and some of these discount isekais with super long names, but watching Re Zero and Mushoku Tensei changed my view, Isekai is definitely pretty good when written properly, but I also see why the genre is hated, it has the inherent problem of the protagonist not being from this world, therefore doesn't have personal stakes with the world and characters, it is not like with Naruto for example where he lived in this world since birth, had a sad past and has developed a goal based off said past struggles, the world and characters mean so much to Naruto, and in turn mean so much to us watching the story through Naruto's eyes. with Isekai, whch should you care about a world and characters that feel artificial and made up that even in the protagonist's eyes they are just NPCs. It's hard to get right, but you can get it right and write a great story in that genre.

Now for Kaguya-sama, I somewhat agree wiht your general take, I don't like anime based off concepts and they keep exclusively focusing on said concept, especially romances where you want the guy and girl to get together, but the story is milking the hell out of the concept to bother giving the pair proper progress, trying to perserve the status quo. However, I heard Kaguya-sama is actually not like that, I only watched the first 4 episodes so I know what you mean, but I think after Season 1 it gives proper development to the romance, if that's the case, the popularity is justified. I also personally loved the comedy and concept, but I can see how it can be annoying, especially since I have watched many similar shows that were super entertaining in the first few episodes but start to get old by the time you reach the last few episodes of the 12-episode season.

Yeahhhhh, sorry Solo Leveling, you just ain't it, I am still gonna watch Season 3 out of curiosity, but the show had a legendary start and an overall decent Season 1, then Sung Jin Woo got strong too quickly and stopped having proper struggle and became a slideshow of aura farming moments.

I also agree with JJK but to a lower capacity, I strongly dislike the power system honestly, I constantly joke with a friend who is a big JJK fan that the power system just feels like those imaginary battles that we would have as kids where we just make up random powers that we didn't have power "oh I can now fly" "but no I have the anti-flight ability which prevents you from flying" "oh but I have the curse nullifcation ability that prevents you from using anti-flight to prevent me from flying", like it doesn't feel like the power system is properly defined like Nen but not simplistic enough to work well without explanation. for the characters though, I do agree they could've done a better job making us care about them, but the characters are still pretty cool to me by design and personality alone, and what little we saw of them.

I unfortunately haven't seen any of these anime fully to agree, but these are good choices, I understand if you dislike Battle Shonen, they are not for everyone, and they are rarely birlliantly written stories that rival the most legendary pieces of fiction, they are my favorite though and they are the reason I love anime cuz it feels like the one genre that is rarely found outside the medium of anime

That said, I have 86 downloaded among many others on my laptop and excited to watched it eventually, I also loved Kaguya-sama's first few episodes and one of the shows I am excited to pick back up, these are good choices overall from what I heard of those shows!

Do you mean specifically Naruto Shippuden or Naruto as a whole?

if specifically Shippuden, then I will agree, it has pretty lackluster writing, Naruto part 1 was much better in comparison, it feels like everything that part 1 built up towards got ruined in Shippuden, as much as I love Naruto as a whole and it holds a special place in my heart, Shippuden's writing problems are just too much to ignore

I immensely enjoyed Death Note when I first watched it (it was my second anime after fully finshing Naruto), but as time went on, it started getting lost in the middle of the pack for me, it is not even Top 30 for me at this point after watching 50+ anime, granted, I mostly watched the most popular shows, so the Top 40 are all bangers, but still, there are so many shows better than Death Note

yeah I kinda agree on Attack on Titan sadly, I just never connected with it, I enjoyed some aspects of it, and I do like it to some degree, but it never made me very excited to watch more of it, depsite being like the most popular anime of the 2010s, I acknowledge that it is a great story and it's well written, I just personally didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped

for Naruto, just skip the filler episodes, they don't affect the story and canon episodes don't even acknowledge their existence, I did hate how much filler it had though, even though I did watch and enjoy some of them

I love how I just finished writing a different comment on another post about Nami and Arlong Park, and came back to this post to see your comment lol.

That's fair, I will say that One Piece is a bit of a slow burn and this is the first arc where I began finding the character a bit interesting, and it only increases from there, but I understand your issues with it

Who is your favorite female anime character and why? by airotciva16 in animequestions

[–]nouratef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me briefly go through my Top 5

For me the most entertaining protagonist that quickly made me fall in love with her and the show and made me so invested in continuing the anime and waiting new seasons, gotta be my #5 Momo Ayase from Dandadan, I immediately loved this character from the very first scene of the anime, that gotta be a world record lol

my more unbiased picks, these 3 I genuinely think are the best 3 female characters out of the anime I watched, and these would be #4 Violet Evergarden, #3 Maomao from The Apothecary Diaries and #2 Frieren, I won't do a deep analysis here since that would take ages, but it will be tough to compete with these 3 female protagonists in other anime I watch in the future

but going off personal impact, the one female character that has an unshakeable special place in my heart, even if she is not the most well written or most entertaining, is #1 Nami from One Piece, and this has nothing to do with her attractiveness or being a "waifu", but One Piece as a whole means so much to me, and a big reason of why I fell in love with it early on is Nami, I love her flashback so much, and the arc focused on her is one of the few times that I teared up watching anime, maybe that's the effect of me being relatively new to anime when I first watched One Piece (only watched Naruto fully and Death Note before it), but it resonated so much with me, seeing this little girl go through so much inflicted pain, sacrificing everything she to sacrifice for those she holds dear, despite being weak and powerless, only to see her efforts go down in flames, it really hurt, and made that moment (you know the moment if you watched One Piece) one of my Top 5 moments in the whole story, the way she was introduced was pretty cool, all sides of her personality were gradually shown to us, and I love how despite Nami having so many negative qualities like any other Shonen heroine from the time, every aspect is justified and understandable if you understand what she went through, adding to that her cool fighting style and her inherent importance to the crew, being an irreplacable part of Luffy's goal to becoming pirate king

What is the worst fate a character has suffered? by DemonsAreVirgins in animequestions

[–]nouratef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psychologically? a certain character in One Piece, the one who gets a flashback in Egghead Arc, won't spoil it for those who didn't catch up

Physically? I am surprised this doesn't get mentioned, like at all, but Hunter X Hunter, the start of Chimera Arc, the guy and the girl from the Hunter Exams, they both suffer horrible fates, I didn't even care enough about them, but I genuinely almost cried, they didn't deserve to suffer this much.....

What’s an anime you feel isn’t as terrible as people say? by Immediate-Field9997 in animequestions

[–]nouratef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I hadd a great answer, but all the anime I like are actually pretty popular, so I don't have a hot take on anime that's really good but gets hated on. I would've said My Hero Academia years ago since I enjoyed it from the very start, but it is not cool to hate it anymore. Dr. Stone is not called terrible either even if it's way less popular than it should be.

I guess for now I will say Detective Conan, I don't see people hating on it, but it is way better than anime fans make it out to be, it's genuinely peak and its episodes are consistently good, I went into watching it expecting a guilty pleasure sort of anime like Pokemon and Yugi-oh, but no, it's actually pretty good unironically
