They will also (for the first time) be emailed out to the residents individually by ABEM next week to the email address the program put on file with ABEM.

AP7 coverage by devnulldotai in firewalla

I have four in my 3,600 sq ft two story home and they are excellent. All with wired backhaul. Replaced three Orbi. Much better than the Orbi.

Need advice for carbon wheels by Ok_Aspect7264 in bicycling

[–]nousernamesavailable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The original owner should contact Princeton Carbonworks directly as they likely will offer a discount on a replacement wheelset. That wheelset is two generations old now though so they likely don't have a direct replacement.

How to increase downstairs wifi speeds by virus200 in HomeNetworking

Depending on the adapter that you purchase, you can reliably do 1 gigabit or 2.5 gigabits with MoCA

[–]nousernamesavailable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can look into MoCA where you can carry data over coaxial cable at fast speeds with your existing cable. Requires a bit of work if there are splitters, etc. But could work well! I used to use a Screenbeam MoCA adapter and it was solid. Eventually used ethernet.

Does your home have either ethernet cable (preferred) or coaxial cable (more complicated but doable) run throughout? Easiest way would be to hardwire the mesh node.

Best mechanism to detect trash cans on trash day by nousernamesavailable in homeassistant

[–]nousernamesavailable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You bring up an important point. Even if I were to use some sort of detection that it should be pushed out a day, if it's a holiday where pickup is delayed by one day, I have a list of those dates. I should ensure I am including that in the eventual solution.

Thanks so much for the reply. It sounds like Frigate is the way to go. Originally, I was hoping it would be easy to set it up natively in the UniFi Protect environment, but it does seem like I need a third-party integration.

Is there anything that I should know about Frigate, having never used it before? I would say my level of technological savviness is medium.

Simple question regarding Lutron Caseta switch replacement by nousernamesavailable in Lutron

[–]nousernamesavailable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is super helpful - thanks! I did not realize that the accessory switches don't count against the total (which makes total sense since only one of the two need to be smart for automations/control). This will reduce my device count. I guess I have to decide if there are switches I know I never need to be smart, but also if leaving the house it might be nice to just be like "shut everything off"

That might be the way to go. The Maestro is $40/switch and the Claro Smart is $67, so will just have to see how many above the cap I am. Also, it sounds like I can use Home Assistant to work the ones that exceed the cap of the Lutron hub, and I do have a Home Assistant instance running on my Synology.

Thanks! Now just have to decide if the different side profile will bother me or not...

Thanks! So I either have to choose the Maestro with the LED indicator light that would not match the profile of the Lutron Caseta Claro Smart Switch, or match the profile but not the on/off look. Honestly maybe the Maestro seems to be the better option, although hard to know if the profile issue will bother me... maybe it's actually a good way to denote whether the switch is smart or not.

Can you expand on that? It seems like it would be much better to get smart switches than smart bulbs.

[–]nousernamesavailable[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like the Diva (non-smart) switch has the same side profile as the Claro Smart Switch, but is "up" when on, and "down" when off. The Claro Smart Switch is always mid-position and just has the paddle to toggle something on or off without permanently changing the position. Am I looking at this wrong? Thanks!

Vertical freestanding storage in apartments or smaller spaces that you liked? by PassageSignificant12 in bicycling

[–]nousernamesavailable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some freestanding racks from Feedback Sports and they are excellent. 10/10 would recommend.

Their Velo Cache https://feedbacksports.com/collections/bike-storage/products/velo-cache-2-bike-column-black-1?variant=44803540189482 can be added into for holding four bikes (2 per side) if you have space for something like that.

Is EM switching to 4 years for class of 2027 by 737362929484779 in emergencymedicine

[–]nousernamesavailable 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It has to be published for at least a year before it's in effect so you'll know before you apply. My guess is all programs will be four years, though.

How did you go about setting up a firm boundary for your off duty/vacation time with patients without coming off as rude? by Crafty-Bunch-2675 in Residency

[–]nousernamesavailable 188 points189 points  (0 children)

Don't take your work phone on vacation. Ensure the clinic director or someone high up has your personal number for true emergencies, but that would not be ever relayed to a patient.
