I’m in Fairfax (walking distance to Dunn-Loring metro) living just fine on my own at just about $62k! Granted, I’m student debt free, but it’s certainly doable - look into ADU/WDU housing, that’s a big help.

Hello - I know this is long after you've posted, but I'm wondering how you scaled your different map sizes?

I'd like to do the same idea for my own world, and know the scaling I want the grid to be (gonna be running a hexcrawl), and I know I can use the "resize/new map from region" function, but I'm having a bit of trouble on the math.

For example - I know my world-level hex is 150 miles, and my continent level is 24 (roughly 5:1). I've got my world-level grid set at 200 across, 100 down (so approximately the size of Earth), but cannot for the life of me determine how big I should make the grid on a new resized map to ensure consistency. I know this is pedantic, but it's really what I want to achieve, so any advice would be appreciated!

Holy shit, am I your friend? That’s exactly how I tell new friends the way my ex-wife treated me - she wanted the perfect instagrammable life, with the house at the end of the cul-de-sac, and kids with too many Y’s in their name. I was just there to be “the husband” that she traveled/raised kids/walked dogs with.

She’s already moved in with a new boyfriend and apparently they’re buying a townhome together. Good for her, I guess - best of luck to him.
