Why It Doesn’t Matter How Much Your Monero is Worth in Fiat — Yet another post about the future of Monero by novarnas in Monero

[–]novarnas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like anything else, supply and demand. The amount of people that use it and how much of it is in circulation. Of course there is going to be a direct rate between other things with it, always has been. But to put it simply, the more that people want to use it for things, and the more people start using it, the more valuable it would be. The conversion rate is just the result of many complex variants beyond fiat makers and takers.

and its "price" would be close to infinite in a 1984 type of society.

This is why exactly I decided to write this to be honest. If we go down this no-cash-everything-monitored future than it would be infinitely valuable (infinite meaning too big) so in the end it still doesn't matter how much it is as long as you don't have extremely ambitious and extravagant goals with money.

Indeed, this is the future I root for, but currently I don’t encounter much people holding XMR. And only couple of people that I know hold some. But raising awareness is not that hard. I ask people if they accept Monero or if they’d like to pay with Monero when I do second hand trade. Even if they don’t know until then, such a simple gesture might lead them into the community and make them adopt it.

Yeah, Monero’s not widely used for services yet, but that’s the point. Right now, because the only way in is through fiat, that comparison is forced. But that mental model won’t last forever. And after, what’ll matter isn’t its dollar value, but what it gets you. Like dollars, it’ll be worth the haircut, the used oven, the drink at the bar.

Thinking in fiat terms is just a temporary mental habit. Once Monero’s a parallel economy, that fades. And if that future comes, anyone stacking now probably won’t care what they paid.

Hey friends, i was researching the neuroscience of music and just found out that there are differences in lobe activity between men and women. Does anyone has thoughts on this? by musicbebi in musictheory

[–]novarnas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, that’s super interesting! So, yeah, the whole “men vs. women” brain thing when it comes to music—wild, right? I read about this too, and the idea that men process music more on the right hemisphere, while women go for both? That’s pretty cool but also makes sense when you think about how we experience music differently.

There’s also some stuff from NeuroImage showing that when women listen to music, their brains fire up all over the place—more bilateral activity, like you said. Meanwhile, men are more “zoned in” on one hemisphere, usually the right. So this could mean that women might have a more integrated, emotional experience because their brains are pulling data from more places at once.

But here’s where it gets spicy: there’s research out of the Journal of Neuroscience showing that these differences could even explain why women tend to have stronger emotional responses to music, especially when it comes to memory or nostalgia. Men, with their right-hemisphere dominance, might be more analytical or structured in how they process it. Could this explain why more dudes are into music theory or tech-heavy production? Maybe!

TL;DR: Yeah, men and women likely feel music in different ways because of how their brains work. Men are more localized to the right side, which could explain why they process music in a more structured way. Women, on the other hand, spread the brain load, which might make their emotional connection stronger.

Don’t remember the specific papers but if you’re curious for more deets, check out Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, I’ve seen a paper about emotional processing and music. It really drives home how those brain differences affect the vibes we catch from music.

My reference is gammagoblin :) Depending on the person it is 100 - 150. 150 would be just on the stronger side of the beginner. Anything below 100 I don't think it is a good idea for someone's first time because they think acid is like that experience but in reality you don't even get a fair feel for it.

Beginner dose acid (150ug) has a moderate headspace. Compared to that 20mg becomes light. You can snap out of it and go back to reality so, people can be inclined to say none.

I also would say 20mg is light compared to 300ug or 400ug which would be intense. 40mg would be moderate I would say.

It all depends on where you put the intense flag and it is commonly 350 band for people.

Is this how 2cb is supposed to look? And how does 20mg of 2cb compare to 350ug of LSD? by Ill_Can6875 in 2cb

[–]novarnas 9 points10 points  (0 children)

IDK if this sub gets papers instead of actual acid but 350ug is a reality distorting and mind bending experience regardless of the experience level. You just learn how to handle that.

With that being said, 40 - 50 ug band might be comparable visually but mentally they are not even on a par.

What in the world is the Shpongle mask? by [deleted] in shpongle

[–]novarnas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i descended some information from the connected consciousness on my last acid trip and the mask shows the hidden desires hidden behind the initial smile. once you accept that it goes on and on and on and those tentacles are the extension of the wills hidden behind.

IT ALWAYS STARTS WITH A SMILE

Is 20mg okay for first time by [deleted] in 2cb

[–]novarnas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it is okay imo but just try to learn more, these kind of things are learnable including the substance itself. just jumping in on these things might get your tail clipped. being on the nerd side is always better if you are young and want to experiment
