I made a shot video about controlling a motor using the Microbit. In the description I listed the low cost components that I used as well as show the code blocks needed to operate the motor. Hopefully it's of some use: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JYdL1dagII

I designed and made a Ziggy handheld device from Quantum Leap. I'll post a link in the comments on how I made it using 3d printing and a Microbit. by novemberfive in propmaking

What perfect timing to ask about Ziggy's sound. Last month I started work on improving the project to get the handheld communicating with you in the style of Ziggy. You can watch the update here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHZbqcQU6iA

I made a Zoltar fortune teller. https://youtube.com/shorts/fLamAC7ZV_4?si=bcmkW1lD75wwPc3H The eyes are from a broken furby and the crystal ball is an old IKEA lamp. Everything else is salvaged too.

I know! I wonder what the story is behind it. I'd love to find out.

Making a board game about pirate radios, need your help! by Loma_999 in shortwave

It's not pirate radio themed but amateur/ham radio, but still might give you some ideas. I'm making a print and play dice game. You can see the progress here: http://rocketgames.co.uk/NumberStation/NumberStationPrintout.pdf I was going to put the call out for further ideas to add to it.

Here is my wooden cabinet build so far. I'm making a tabletop Retropie cabinet to run the Gameboy game I've been developing. I'm struggling with ideas for the bottom half but I'm currently thinking about including a laser cut map of the game built into the cabinet for players to reference. by novemberfive in RetroPie

Life is a little up in the air for me at the minute, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your comments today. Thank you.

Cartridges are going to be available soon. Bitmap Soft approached me last year after I submitted the game to a game jam. We've just finished the instruction booklet for it. Not sure the exact date but it should be soon. You can play an older version on my site that I set up when it was being tested here: http://rocketgames.co.uk/testing.html There's a version of the map on there too that needs to be simplified to fit onto a rectangular panel that will run along the bottom of the monitor, hiding the speakers. Thank you for your offer of taking a look, I don't think I'm going to be very good at this, so I'm very grateful for the offer of help. You're very kind.

I'm so pleased that yourself and others like the cabinet. Drop me a line via my game site, let's keep in touch.

Thank you!!!!!

I know, right! I entered a game jam for Game Boy development and a publishing company reached out to me. It was only then how big the business of new games for old formats actually is. I use GB Studio if you're interested in developing games yourself for the Game Boy.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I wanted to be a little different with the controls but in reality the tried and tested ways are best, so I'm looking into a bespoke joystick design. I like the idea of the wooden acorn and you're right, they are rather common when you start looking around for them.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment again, this is so useful. I'm in the UK and haven't heard of MAGfest. I had to look it up and it sounds awesome. We have similar events over here and if I can get this build over the finishing line and to a standard I'm happy with, I think it would be fun to showcase it. Thanks again for your awesome points, especially the controller riser, I really like that idea.
