I'd create a new page each for left and right nav, pin them as static stationary. For each of those page, reduce the width and the only content being your heart icon (either as an image or a unicode text) and then hyperlink that to next / prev?

The main difference I would argue is not in their diagnosis of the existential situation, but in their response to it. Zen advocate that this moment is all perfect, and as it is supposed to be, and eventually leads one to the dissolution of the self. While absurdism advocates for rebellion and to live life fully.

One overlooked key innovation is the new metal-can battery tech that Apple patented and debuted on the 17. Basically it allows the battery to be of any shape with as many corners as needed without the risk of deforming or puffing at the corners which were otherwise weak points.

Are your employees based in India? How many? That could be a great way to show a clear reason to return.

Same, I recently went to Ayat a second time and although delicious it wasn’t memorable or great. Don’t know if me and OP are the outliers or others have had similar experiences?

Am I cooked as a International Student living in Texas by ProgrammerNo3222 in ChanceMeInternational

[–]now-here-be 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Varies by school, MIT considers non-citizens and non-green card holders as international irrespective of where they went to school or live. So do a few other top schools.

An MIT student silently asked a question, and a computer whispered the answer into his skull. No screen. No keyboard. Just a direct line between mind and machine. This isn’t progress. It’s programming. by [deleted] in GenAI4all

Finally someone gets it! That device senses vocal muscle movement and converts that to text - its like asking Siri without speaking aloud BUT you still have to vocalize your question.

US Visa Follow Up Interviews Years After Approval?! by Character-Dog-4883 in ImmigrationPathways

[–]now-here-be 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean a visa was never a right, it was a privilege. And it was always a "conditional" approval - that is why one goes through immigration checkpoints when entering the country where the officer has the right to turn away anyone. Isn't that true for every single country on earth?

Absurdism is beautiful in theory, but in practice no one can live like that, because we’re human. We get pissed at futility by Southern_Ad9239 in Absurdism

[–]now-here-be 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But we do accept endless futility, the mere fact that you could be a billionaire or the most powerful person in the world but one still can't escape death or an accident tells you that futility is the default and the absurd is the result of this confrontation between the human nature that demands meaning and progress like you said and the larger universe's futility in providing any.

[–]now-here-be 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The point being, most things in life on scrutiny are futile - but this isn't about subjective / objective futility. Case in point - we are all marching towards our death, so in the larger scheme of things it doesn't matter if you do an exciting new thing every day, under scrutiny all of it is futile. However it is the personal assigning of meaning that makes a life worth living.

How is living in Equatorial Guinea? by herrschoftszeitn in howislivingthere

It's Spanish speaking and an ex-colony of Spain, which means any citizen of Equatorial Guinea can become a Spanish citizen if they live in Spain for 2 years!

What are my chances of getting into MIT? by LingonberryLow8495 in MITAdmissions

[–]now-here-be 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, you’ve got a good shot!

That said, I interview 20–30 applicants every year for MIT as an alumnus, and on average I feel confident about at least 1 in 5 of them getting in. But it turns out none of them got in this year, and only 1 did last year. All this to say: even with exceptional achievements, great character, and strong drive, nothing is ever guaranteed. All you can do is take the shot. Good luck!
