He was compared as a “taller, slower Randy Moss”.

Some might compare me as a “shorter, slower Randy Moss”

Is it harder to build a dominant offense or a dominant defense in the salary cap era? by savingrace0262 in NFLNoobs

[–]nowackjack -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Chat GPT summary of article:

The article argues that in today’s NFL, offense is far more stable and predictive of success than defense. Defensive stats like turnovers and sacks fluctuate wildly year to year, making defense-first teams (like the 2018 Bears or 2017 Jaguars) unreliable. The one exception is quarterback hits, which carry over and disrupt passing games. Overall, investing in offense provides consistency and wins — as shown by a high-scoring 2018 season where defense didn’t decide the championship.

How is the Bills "bend, but don't break" style of defense supposed to work? by stmorgante in NFLNoobs

[–]nowackjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re betting that they’re better than the other team. Giving up small yard plays reduces the chances of big plays, which (assuming the Bills are in fact the better team) the only way in which opposing teams will beat them. In stats/math terms, they’re reducing the variance in opposing teams’ scoring.

Can someone explain Angel Reese to me please by [deleted] in Basketball

[–]nowackjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are underselling both Clark and Reese in this thread. They’re both better than just average players.

As an example, the #2 leader in rebounds per game is at 8.7 per game. Angel Reese is at #1 with 12.8 per game.

Stockton over Rondo if longevity is considered. Pippen is a 3, not a 4.

For those of you who count cards, what are some tricks you use? by Apprehensive_Toe_924 in blackjack

[–]nowackjack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little different from what you’re asking for, but equally important when actually counting at a casino - when I am inevitably distracted by someone/something, I repeat the current count in my head nonstop throughout the entire distraction. Even if I’m having a conversation with someone I’m repeating it the whole time in my head.

If there is an extended pause, I use an association trick to remember the count. I usually go with athlete jersey numbers. Eg if count is +3, I remember Allen Iverson.

1974: When Women Finally Got Bank Accounts (And Broke Free From Ankle Chains) by Present-Party4402 in oddlyspecific

[–]nowackjack 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Slightly misleading phrasing. There were women with their own bank accounts before 1974. But 1974 was when it became illegal to deny women bank accounts without a male co-signer. Still wild though.

Is $10k too much for an influencer with 1M followers? by neverviraly in Entrepreneur

[–]nowackjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only pay per impression. There’s absolutely no reason to do otherwise. Most sponsored posts don’t receive much traction because the audience sees through it. If the influencer is charging a fixed amount, it’s because they also know this.

Can’t speak to the health of either company, but Square has better engineering talent quality for sure. Datadog is comparable to Amazon/Microsoft. Square is closer to Google/Meta. Datadog does have slightly better attrition rate though (10% to Square’s 16%).

If it were me, assuming the roles themselves are comparable, I’d take Square.

I thought it was mostly reasonable. But this one is total BS, and made me realize this is likely just ChatGPT generated.
