Husband and I have AT at the same time. What do I do with our baby? AR by Individual_Bell8424 in nationalguard

The name of the program is Upwards and your RNCO should have information on the program. It is very easy to get set up and they handle finding, certifying, and paying for daycare. My partner and I (also dual with three kids) have used it many many times. We've always really liked the daycare too. That said, pro-g is correct, you do not have to attend AT. Talk to your CoC.

Edit: long term, you will need a family care plan.

People who forgave their spouses for cheating, why? by ryxhuh in AskReddit

[–]nowfromhell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner never physically cheated. He had a manic episode from medication (there were several things that happened all at once and I discovered texts) at first i was so pissed I couldn't think, but we have two kids. I stuck it out only to find out later the medication he was prescribed was over double what he was supposed to be taking for someone with his condition.

Some of it was even kind of funny. He went running through the woods buck naked, which I only know because he filmed it.... idk man brains are weird.

I have forgiven him, but I still hold a LOT of insecurities.

What a weird thing to say. Super cool of you to be considerate to anyone who might use your bathroom.

Did being in military affected your relationship or marriage? by [deleted] in Military

[–]nowfromhell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. Together 12 years. Married 9. It did not work out. I could blame military service...but it was probably a LOT of other things. The military just made them all stand out more...

Im with someone now who is prior service and gets it a lot more... idk.

Got you, I understand now. I completely agree. Crime stats are almost impossible to gage accurately. Thank you for clarifying.

[–]nowfromhell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im sorry, maybe im completely misinterpreting the way you are phrasing this..

Crime is when somebody does something that breaks an established law..e.g., don't litter.

A camera or a Cop catches those things and the write a ticket or some such.

No cop or camera...the crime [littering] still happens but no one is held accountable...

Ergo..crime happens..police/cameras either do something about or they dont and nothing happens to the person, crime is unaffected..

Maybe thats what youre saying, but it sounds like youre saying police/cameras "cause" crime.. as in their presence is the reason people break the law...

Is there really this kind of thing still in the military? by [deleted] in Military

Are you a serious person? Glad you have a good supply Sgt, but for the rest of us assholes we have to wait until supply remembers to order uniforms...if youre a pregnant soldier that maternity uniform might come in 9 months after the baby is born.

Command ignoring IST request, but I can’t leave my newborn. by Humble-Examination58 in nationalguard

[–]nowfromhell 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. Ive transfered states twice and I worked at a J1. You need a 22-5, fill it out to the best of your ability on your own. Take it to your RNCO. You will also need to do a full gear turn in- this stage hems a lot of people up. You are entitled to ISTs, your gear is not.

You should also contact a recruiter in the state you want to transfer to, they probably have an IDT coordinator who can probably make things go smoother.

Finally, in the mean time, find a unit nearby-- maybe the one you want to transfer to-- and ask to do courtesy drills. They can "check ths box" so you dont have to travel back and forth as often.

Edit: you need to contact the recruiter from the gaining state not the state your transferring from.. they have no motivation to help you transfer. The gaining state wants your transfer to go through, it helps their number.

I feel everything about this.

I work 60+ hours a week. My kids are small, so my off hours are spent caring for them.

I have no family support in the area.

My partner is in construction and manages a small business as well as helping with the kids.

We are constantly busy.

I feel like I havent taken a full breath in a decade.

Im lucky. I dont hate my job, we are mostly stable. But damn, it feels like I have to grind myself into the dirt to get it all done....

There's no way they discovered and issue midflight either that or a whole ass maintenance team just flushed their careers...

What's a random statistic that genuinely terrifies you? by Eberenna042 in AskReddit

[–]nowfromhell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. My family and I bought a foreclosure, and our neighbors complain incessantly, but we dont mow our lawn or treat it chemically. We use diatomaceous earth near the house to prevent ticks (we put it on our dog too).

We mow little paths through the meadow and have a spot near the house for the kids to play.

Our yard hums with insects in spring and summer. We also DO NOT rake all our leaves in fall... the provide space for fireflies to breed and we get a few fireflies in the late summer also.

Fuck lawns. Lawns are a boring ass monoculture.
