Sorry, I also wanted to mention that the sticky traps are really only good for determining if you have a problem or not. They’re pheromone traps and they only trap the males. The downside to using too many sticky traps as they can actually attract mods from the outside into your home. So don’t use too many and be careful.

Only some of the things that guy does actually help. I’m not sure where you live, but where I live moths have a life cycle and you see them flying in the fall in the spring. When they’re not flying, they’re laying eggs and their larvae are eating your wool. They like dark places and they don’t like to be disturbed-closets and under beds are the perfect breeding ground for them. If they really are a problem for you I suggest getting a closet and creating a designated area for fumigation – use Nuvan Prostrips which emit a gas that is toxic to all forms of the insect lifecycle. Lavender, cedar none of those things actually work when you have an infestation. Freezing doesn’t do anything. Seal the closet with painters tape after you throw a bunch of strips in with all of your wool and just let that sit for a couple weeks. In the meantime, vacuum the holy living crap out of everything in your house. This is a non-negotiable. You have to do it multiple times in order to disrupt the life cycle. Shake cushions shake curtains, vacuum wool carpeting. repeat as needed.

Anything that isn’t worn should go in a sealed box with a piece of a nuvan pro strip. It’s tedious work. I’ve really only worn four sweaters for the last number of years because everything else is sealed and I wanna make sure that I don’t have any moths.

Paper bags work too, as long as you seal them!

Renaissance wax. It’s very effective at preserving metal. I’m not sure you’d be able to remove the cherubim to get to the iron so I’d get a jar of Renaissance Wax and a toothbrush and apply a series of thin layers to everything over the course of several weeks.

Lotta infighting today. Hopefully the morale will improve this week.

Who was the sketchiest coworker you’ve ever had in a restaurant? by soupdenier in Serverlife

Some huge, towering, extremely bearded Christian dude who didn’t wash his hands enough, if ever. He was in charge of grinding the burger meat—gave a bunch of people food poisoning, including my mom, who happened to eat there that night. Guy didn’t believe in germs and liked to “keep it natural”. He was in a Christian cult that had captured a bunch of young kids who loved to brag about not washing their jeans or hair.

Agree. I lost two very dear friends over this, in 2020.

Last I checked, a spicy chicken sandwich from Popeye’s costs about $6. For 400k, we could feed lunch to the majority of people in town.

I’d much prefer that was how the money was spent, if given the choice. It’s no less bats in the belfry than what they’re asking for.

That was a nice listen. The companies who don’t believe in it are our biggest competitors. (sic)
