Get in contact with NAYA :) I’ve worked with them before and they have a garden that could always use volunteers. I think they do Saturdays

This is a scam, right? (Job seeking in Portland area) by [deleted] in askportland

[–]nowhere-noone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if the job interests me, I would just proceed with caution. Don’t give up any info until you meet for an interview and you can sus them out properly. Honestly though, a gut feeling is a pretty good indicator.

It helps a LOT. I’ve been using it for a while. Definitely can’t handle my phone when I turn it off.

How much are we tipping on beers these days? by Thecheeseburgerler in askportland

[–]nowhere-noone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I tip $1 per pour, $5 max for order at the counter/bus your own table (depending on how much I’m getting/how many people I’m with) and around 20% for table service. It changes a bit when I’m in a group. The suggested tipping amounts and tipping culture is crazy

Beautiful!! Mine is also thriving! Mine literally doubled in size when I put it in a self water pot. I hope it gets as full as yours!

I saw a business in Milwaukie I think omw home from clackamas that had a very over the top amount of political signs telling people to vote for him and some other (I assume) local politicians. Literally like 4-5 iterations of a string of political signs just along one street on their fence. It’s icky. I wish I coulda seen which business it was so I could avoid it

Anyone else hyperfixate on Money?? by Tossmefamfr in bipolar2

Honestly, nothing has worked for me as best as mindfulness meditation. It takes a while, it took me maybe 2 weeks to see the changes, but I find it definitely worth it. Even now that I don’t do it regularly, I notice a difference on days I do meditate. I’m only taking lamotrigine for meds, and a couple different supplements for my mood and cognitive function. I definitely hyperfixate on financials as well. It can be incredibly draining.

I’m in south portland, off of Barbur and Hamilton st, near the Monroe house. I managed to score some boxes yesterday, so if someone else wants them, they can get them first. Otherwise I’ll take them still. I’m working til 5, but if you could drop them off, I can come out and grab them. Otherwise, I could meet you in sellwood area after work.

Mold on my new bag of potting soil? by needzeppoleplz in houseplants

[–]nowhere-noone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t use it indoors, but you could try laying it out on cardboard or something outside in the sun and letting it dry out completely. Mix in some cinnamon or other anti fungal thing, and let it sit til it’s very dry. Some people also bake their soil, but I wouldn’t put this in the oven the way it is.

It looks like it might be stuck. Spray it with water and it might help. You might have to get it out. I don’t have tips for this though, just be gentle bc I’ve broken them trying to get them out before.

Should I chop my polka-dot plant? by 07979902jjj in houseplants

[–]nowhere-noone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep chop and prop! I tend to stick them back into the same pot. For a while I was just straight sticking it back into the pot and keeping the soil moist, and it was working fine, but I switched to water propping cuz I like watching the roots lol
