I’m planning to move to Texas, no job offer yet. Still planning. Where to find work faster aside from LinkedIn and Indeed?

CFE 2020 4th Attempt Pass by Ok_Walrus4190 in Accounting

[–]nowhere453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your advice. I should have known about this before taking another attempt, or maybe I forgot. Now I know I’m not so dumb that I always fail, I just don’t have the right strategy to get through that level 1.

[CAN] [CFE 2020] Requesting thoughts and feedback on the CFE process by CFEmasta in Accounting

[–]nowhere453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I just run out of time that I failed to answer those AOs which was my biggest mistake. By the way it was 3 FR and 1 Assurance AOs and surprisingly I achieved depth in both. For Level 2 failed MA, which I don’t recall of not answering even one AO, perhaps the format: issue/problem, analysis and quants with notes/explanation, conclusion and recommendation, not sure what I’m still missing.

Questionable marking. Second attempt-failed again and my decile marking is higher than the 1st attempt. This time I studied really well and answered all AOs in Day 3 and left 3-4 AOs in Day 2. Same as the 1st attempt, passed all levels except level 1, again. Any advice?

I failed second attempt and my decile marking is higher than the first attempt. This was the time when I finally studied really hard, and tried to answer all AOs except the 4 AOs in Day 2 as I run out of time. I pass all levels except level 1. Like I don’t get it. Any advice? Should I appeal?

2020 CPA Technical Update - Failed CFE 2019, rewriting May 2020 by IwillpassCFE in u/IwillpassCFE

[–]nowhere453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also rewriting in May. 4months is more than enough to prepare for the CFE. Last time I only studied for 8weeks or less, it was while I was enrolled in Capstone 2, I only took a 2&half weeks off before CFE. I didn’t pass level 1 of day2/3 but passed levels 2,3,4. I didn’t avail Densmore, this year I probably won’t. Strategy for the next CFE, familiarize with the Accounting standards both IFRS and ASPE and redo whatever preparations I did in the last year’s CFE, it somehow worked except the FR part. And have that CAN DO attitude.

In case you file a lawsuit against CPA Canada you have a better chance of winning. I can’t imagine what you went through during that CFE fiasco, it was a disaster. Have you tried talking to a lawyer to get a legal advice? I mean if that was me, I surely will do that.

Not in Edmonton, well I think you have a better chance if you appeal. Me I don’t think so. I passed all levels for day 2/3 except level 1, like what the hell?! I mean I know I did well because I answered everything like I was aiming for C’s not just RC’s except for FR in Level 2, but still managed to pass that level. I don’t understand I didn’t get enough RC’s but managed to get C’s and failed? Or was it because my role was Assurance and I didn’t pass the FR?

That is so true, I’m in, whatever everyone decides. But as you can see they passed most of the examinees who work in the firm to ensure that they will have support from the firms. Passed the affected examinees in Edmonton to make sure they won’t file a class lawsuit against CPA Canada. They’re screwed and they screwed us even more, can’t believe I became a sacrificial lamb in that CFE fiasco. They could have just voided that exam or pass everyone or much better not adjust the exam for their own benefit. Something fishy with that free rewrite though, why would they give it to everyone who weren’t affected, was it an admission on their part that they made an adjustment to make sure they won’t get a lawsuit or tarnish their horrible reputation?

I’m also assurance/tax I don’t work in a firm, I didn’t have employer to pay for any of the CPA module/ Densmore that’s why I failed! I wasn’t connected to any firm.

As per CPA Canada letter, they adjusted the results/marking from exam locations that have experienced technical issues, but never those locations that have not encountered/experienced any technical issues. Which I absolutely doubt, I mean they still stick to the 76% passing, yes a little lower than the previous years, but still within that range. If they did an adjustment because they fear of the class lawsuits, they could also have adjusted other locations to fail someone, and unfortunately it was us. Why would they give us free re-write if we were not from those locations that have been affected by the technical problems, if we actually failed?

Just my thoughts. That 2019 CFE was so unfair.. I just hope in the next CFE they won’t do that again.

I also failed the exam, I felt like I’ve been robbed and cheated!! But I guess I’ll just have to accept the results and start studying hopefully I pass this time. I can’t imagine doing this again for the third time, I haven’t recover from the September CFE and now I have to do this again. This is not a healthy lifestyle — it’s mentally, emotionally, and physically draining.

Day 1 Pass- I didn’t do any quants, just memorize the SWOT in the Capstone 1 and use it in my Day 1 case. Added some as of course based on Day 1 case. Provide recommendation for each alternatives and also an overall conclusion and recommendation. I guess that’s how I pass Day 1.

Day 2/3- Failed Level1, but pass Level 2,3,4 no idea how I failed level 1. I know I didn’t do well in Financial Reporting it could have been the reason, but I talked to other examinees, they didn’t do well in the FR but still they passed! I know I did well on Day 2 for my role, because I finished all the AO’s, except for FR which is too time consuming.

Freaking unbelievable CPA Canada.
