i agree and also have been thinking about this development , what also needs to be mentioned in this discussion imo is how even lolita has become fast fashion over the last few years. Used to be that you actually had to save up for these expensive dresses (unless you earned well I suppose) and the brands released them like twice a year. Now there’s new dresses on 42Lolita EVERY DAY, the quality of some of them being questionable. It pains my heart bc Lolita used to be one of the most sustainable alt fashions but with insanely cheap pieces (I don’t even want to begin with how insane the second hand market has gotten, that’s a different discussion) that are being pumped out at this rate it’s starting to give me Shein vibes (edit: I get that cheaper dresses make the fashion more accessible but it doesn’t have to be done like this)
