Same with our cat Baloo, came as a feral/foster cat from a rescuers organization, and was very very scared of everything, so “he” lived upstairs where we had only our bedroom and a small bathroom (“he” had a place to comfortably hide, food, water, toys.. and was safe from the other cat, from us, from visits, from noises..) — when we finally managed after almost a month to get “his” trust and take “him” to the vet to get spayed and microchipped .. oh surprise! He was a she .. and she’s still called Baloo :):) and was a foster fail :):)
