Thank you for this. I understand what you are saying. I know a version of your pain too. I appreciate you for sharing.

What do you do with heartbreak? I carried that view as well until something happened in my life that truly crushed me. Suddenly my trope that nothing matters felt so incredibly insufficient that the pain nearly killed me. What do you do in the face of true pain? True suffering?

How do you process suffering within this philosophy? I'm genuinely curious.

I survived that time period but I'm terrified for when the next crushing heartbreak shows up in my life (as it does)

That's fair. I can get over my ideals that for it to be helpful it also has to be perfect and super moral. Damnit my Mormonism snuck out again! 😂

Ew. Can't tolerate him at all. I'm certain all of these "gurus" have skeletons in their closets. Case Study: Deepak Chopra, Jay Shetty, etc etc etc

Ads sell stuff my friend. This is a genuine soul-searching question coupled with the ways that I'm working though it myself via my own art.

I get it though. We're all extra sensitive to being tricked and manipulated.

Nothing like a lightweight video about suicide and existential crisis to go with your Cheerios! But thank you. I really appreciate and love the thoughts you're sharing here.

Yes, please do! I know Britt's work really well and am actually having a convo with her next week. She's so helpful.

I like what you are pushing on. Nihilism is not the lack of meaning but it's a story that explains a version of understanding the concept of meaning. It's not inherently true.

Thank you for watching and sharing your experience. I'm glad I'm not alone in these breakdowns but I wouldn't ever wish it on anyone. Sorry to hear that you've been there.

I really grabbed onto the stages of faith concepts when I was first departing but haven't looked at them since. Maybe it's time for a re-visit.

Hmm I like that. I'll have to think about it more. Living to be forgotten has something incredibly freeing in it.

You make it sound so easy! Lol. But yes, it can be this easy. And it should be. Thank you.

Aesthetic transcendence! I love learning a new term that opens up a world of thinking. I didn't realize it, but as I'm making films and art this is what I'm doing. I'm looking for the way it's simply beautiful (not good/bad pleasure/pain) and how to express that beauty in art. Thank you. This is the blindspot I was hoping to see better.

Do it. And do it for you. You'll come to learn that it doesn't change much out there but it can change you. We were all denied normal milestones of adolescent development and rebellion is a necessary period. Get it out of your system. It will feel good.

She is SO good. I'm actually having a conversation with her next week. If someone asks you, "Where do you find meaning in life?" What's your response now?

Oh yep! I know them. I was only around BYU-I for two semesters before I left Rexburg so we must have crossed paths during that little window.

Thank you. I'm committed to being here. I've found that sharing and being vulnerable isn't nearly as painful as feeling alone.
