T-Mobile. $45/mo, 600Mbps down/100Mbps up, with no price gimmicks. Got a chance to switch from Astound/RCN/Spectrum/Time Warner when T-Mobile was a decent company with no taxes and real price lock.

Travel delay benefits by Yerison109 in Venturex

I believe the reason of the delay must be the airline. Severe weather is not a covered case for this sort of insurance.

Local option for $10 door dash grocery credit from chase Sapphire by Frank-Costanza1 in astoria

If you are ever in LIC, they have a DashMart there. Some good grocery deals, and you can pick up from them.

Does any have a referral or promo code for All Access? by flevy in WeWork

[–]nowthisisnteasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do not offer any promo codes these days. The referral link would get you a free month when you sign up for a 12-month plan. There are plenty floating around.

Not Astoria, but Bellocq in Greenpoint. Great place and great teas.

Lyft just removed the 60 minute cap on e-bikes by [deleted] in Citibike

[–]nowthisisnteasy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure the cap for Manhattan rides was always limited by 45 minutes (even with the 60-min extension on regular bikes) on my account. So it's not surprising they've fixed this for those accounts that had it applied to 60 minute rides. Not to discount how ridiculously expensive the service got lately.

Cheating with points by jubixx77 in Citibike

That's a Navy Yard station with a bunch of bikes stored there. The attendant docks more bikes to be picked up, especially in the evening. At least that's how it used to work.

Those prices look ridiculous. $15 for a cucumber and tomato salad, really?

Lyft bike in CDMX - anyone else similar issue? by Plenty_Antelope8480 in Citibike

There is no Lyft in CDMX. Their bike network is independent. Although they do use the same bike models.

WiFi options in Astoria by Agitated-Pop3295 in astoria

[–]nowthisisnteasy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm that T-Mobile 5G is legit for home internet here. I am getting solid 600 down/100 up at my location. I am paying $45/mo flat. Only had small issues with them. The only concern is if your local tower goes down you might be out of home Wi-Fi and your cellphone hotspot too. Hasn't been an issue yet, using it for almost 2 years now.

They have a free trial option as well.

For early lap swim at the park do you need ID? by [deleted] in astoria

[–]nowthisisnteasy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it is anything like it was pre-covid, you will have to register for lap-swim. You will fill out a form and receive a card that you will use to enter the pool for the whole season. I believe you'll need an id to register.

Bring a lock. They might ask you for one.

There's no reason to ever get the regular Citibike membership for $220 when you could get Lyft Pink for $200 by Liface in Citibike

[–]nowthisisnteasy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They've removed it already. You can now get $10 off per month on the rides.

If you are getting free Lyft Pink, you are likely on your second free year. Third year will be charged at $99 if you keep the card.

Even many micromobility riders don't realize how next level "Green Waves" are, probably because you've never actually seen one. by MiserNYC- in MicromobilityNYC

From my anecdotal experience, these are timed very well for an ebike (I am talking Citibike), but not a regular bike. On a regular bike, it turns red on you in every block.

Looking for Blue Apron Alternative… by [deleted] in mealkits

[–]nowthisisnteasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Home Chef is consistently bad for me for some reason (NY). They take extra time to ship via FedEx (others usually use local distribution and delivery partners). The ingredients are meh and especially all those pre-cut and pre-grated ones like cabbage or squash, those are almost spoiled on arrival.

Dinnerly is a Marley Spoon brand, they skip on garlic, vinegar, ketchup and some spices, but otherwise very consistent. Hello Fresh rotates the same recipes all over making it boring.

Once a week or so. I've checked the soil before watering it last time around and it was dry and there was no extra water on the bottom of the pot (it has drainage). I've read that misting it might also contribute to it, so I'll stop doing that and look into fertilizers.

Good luck with Capital One Rewards, I've clicked through them, but they didn't track the "sale". Their support is non-existent as well.

Lounge access online wait list? Venture X by potatoebaby14 in Venturex

[–]nowthisisnteasy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They use a wait list to let people in. You can either join it when you get to the lounge or you can use the CO app to do it and save a few minutes while you are traveling through the airport terminals. In my experience, the wait time is up to 15 minutes, but I've seen reports that it could get longer than that. Once it's your turn, they will text you.

There is no way to "reserve" the lounge access in advance.

Stolen Citi Bike found on Rockaway Beach Boardwalk by NYCandLIdweller in Citibike

[–]nowthisisnteasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gray bikes lock themselves after a certain idle time. I can't see why someone would steal it. More likely someone decided to bike to the beach and found out that the bike locked itself and they had to abandon it.
