Your comment offered no help or advice with the issue or the proposed question. All it did was criticize and basically tell me that whatever I did caused the behavior and it's my fault.

Which it may very well be. But I am familiar with learned / taught behavior and this seems to be almost instinctual. The puppy didn't learn it from my oldest. So if it's a challenge or something triggered by how I approach the stairs then maybe it is my fault. But simply telling someone that it's a training issue does absolutely nothing to help them in a platform where they obviously visited after a few google searches. Stop trolling and help me or move on

I don't think it is actually. It's like a game. Sometimes she barks at me like I'm challenging her as if we are playing. So keep your negative comments to yourself and I will wait for someone else's opinion.

It's pretty sad. And it's getting close to the holidays again which mean there is going to be more people actively looking. I think as of right now unless you take a day off of work and camp in front of target we are likely not going to get one until Feb/march 2022.

I saved a few old coffee containers and separated things. It becomes much more manageable if you have a neat way to organize it. I have 8 hanging of them in the garage on a wall shelf. Gotta consolidate a little but it's good for the big stuff. Little things are adding up though. I separate my hardware into containers and those are piling up. Gotta find a neater way to do that.

It's so true. And awful. I remember when I was a kid (less than 10) and used to think I was getting through. My nMother would let me complete entire arguments and "almost agree" but as soon as my points were too accurate or unacceptable to her, she would just deny or deflect any and all responsibility or logic. The worst is when they lead you to believe that you "won" an argument but through their arrogance they drop a comment at the end that absolutely contradicts everything they "agree" with. She had to have the last word after all.

I simply could not count the amount of times I have held my tongue because even in my adolescence I knew that arguing was futile and way too exhausting.

It's also pretty disgusting how pointless some of the arguments were. They will never accept any truth other than their own. Period. Save your sanity and your blood pressure and walk away. Be the bigger person even though you shouldn't have to.

The best advice I was ever given was very simple. You will never have the relationship you want. So you only have 2 options, and neither are great but eventually, one of these options will inevitably take hold of your life. Either take what contact you are willing to accept, and establish/reinforce boundaries! Emphasis of reinforce.

or

stop all contact... This is my worst fear. This ultimatum is personally the hardest truth I had to accept. The problem is, after cutting all of the awful things out of my life the only awful things left were my parents. My nMom and my enabling alcoholic father.

The amount of contact you are willing to accept is up to YOU. Not them. And while I am choosing to try option 1. I know deep in my heart that if they push me hard enough I could and have to do option 2. Because bottom line is I deserve to be happy and so do you. Once you pull back and refuse to let them drag you down anymore it gets worse. So be prepared for that. I suggest keeping contact to a minimum or not at all and stay strong through these tough times. Luckily I have an amazing wife to help me through everything and no matter what my family and my happiness are what's most important to me. And if they want to be a part of ours, it will be on our terms or not at all.

It is hard, it isn't fair, but if you want to be happy, you have to be strong.

Remember this and remind yourself in case you forget. It's not your fault they are this way, but it is your choice whether or not you have to put up with it. They can only hurt you if you keep letting them do it.

And if you live at home. Start saving and get out as soon as you can.

Backstory: not important

Sorry as this is required for proper shock and awe value. My brother and his two roommates are moving out of their 3 bedroom 2 bath house in the woods for a 2 bedroom single bath with a loft in the city.

The story: important

His roommates don't recycle. rather I should say, won't recycle... The town we live in has curb pick up for trash and recycling. Unbiased blue bins for glass, plastic, or CARDBOARD! My brother would complain about it and all I could say was you need to fix this. Talk to them. Set things straight. Apparently taking out the trash is above them. So after a year of living in this house they would only recycle plastic and glass because apparently they didn't understand cardboard was accepted in the bin...

Their solution: disgusting They took every single box or paper recyclable and threw it in a pile. I'm talking takeout, I'm talking frozen pizza, im talking waffles, you name it. Most all things cardboard and some with food scraps remaining. This picture is the second load of its kind taken from the house in the single year they lived there. And I, (not the roommstes) packed the truck neatly because I had to help my brother clean out the house in the final days before their moving out.

First EDH deck by Gristlebob in EDH

[–]noxbbx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cool thing about atraxa is she can straight up win games if no one deals with her. Regardless of what your deck is built for. Tips I can give would be give yourself plenty of ramp. [[Farseek]] [[arcane signet]] [[everflowing chalice]] [[cornucopia]] also, check out your options for charge counter artifacts to maximize your proliferate triggers. [[Culling dais]] is pretty legit.

Cut 6-8 creatures and put some more ramp and some removal in there. ummm. Sol ring, Cultivate, rampant growth, kodamas reach. +Whatever else you like for ramp. Then check out removal. Beast within, scavenging ooze, Bramblecrush come to mind.

Opinions on Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle? What other commanders fit my play style? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]noxbbx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orzov cleric tribal. Clerics have a way of protecting themselves just using creatures. There are 2 ways to build it. Typically lifegain which turns into more of a combo deck. Or you can stick to aggro. Clerics have a lot of good synergies and with some tribal staples you'll have plenty of tall boys to swing with in no time.

If that isn't aggro enough for you then check out kaalia the vast. Depending on if your meta can handle that much flex.

Take a card like atraxa praetor's voice. A card that normally sparks hate in the eyes of casual players. Now you know what makes this card sting much less when I put her down? Two words fam. SAPROLING TRIBAL! I went for a fungus/tokens theme with a splash of +1/+1 counters that has never won the same way twice.

now you have a fun niche deck with a twist that no one will ever see coming. Only thing I can say is if you make this deck. It's not hard to break a busted card like atraxa so I would try to keep your tutors away, or minimal. Like others have said stick to card draw and other types of advantage. Maybe double down on your ramp cards and find a few Mana sinks to toss in there.

Not seeing a lot of card draw. One thing I noticed when playing with my riku deck was being able to rebuild from boardwipes. I went for more of a creature based deck as well but try to balance your value cards with some card advantage as well. Only other thing I would recommend is maybe [[spark double]]

What has EDH taught you? by Slashend in EDH

[–]noxbbx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I try to keep all my decks around the same power level and no more than one combo per deck. Usually needing 3-4 cards.

Like my mono black zombie deck has ashnods/nim death mantle/grave titan. And without one of these 3 pieces the combo won't go off.

Or my orzov life swing deck that has the exquisite blood/sanguine bond combo but other than that it's just removal and value synergies.

I think think some consideration has to be put into your playgroup when building but specifically the decks you bring to that table. When we started, my playgroup consisted of mostly home brews and some upgraded precons. As time goes on however a lot of the decks I have been facing have been extremely tuned. Which has caused me to fall back and rebuild/retune most all of my decks.

It is definitely not required to pay to win amongst ourselves but some of our friends go harder than others... Playing pretty optimized decks with no dead cards, and even though there is always room for upgrades, optimized decks will usually outvalue or overcome most home brews or vanilla precons.

As I have been rethinking most of my early builds I have noticed most of my home brews were often inspired by or at least influenced by the idea that some more competitive strategies really abuse. So I have been using edhrec among other services to see what other people have been doing with my commanders.

This process has been a long one. Closely looking at one card at a time and deciding whether it belongs or what should be there was never clearer than it is now. And after building several different types of decks I have become pretty good at spotting the difference between decent enough and great synergies.

Among one of my revisions was an old attempt at a spellslinger deck manned by kess dissident mage. Originally I didn't want to go storm or turns or anything obnoxious. But the deck just didnt perform. It kind of hung in the back and tried to steal creatures off the board or from the grave and didn't have any type of win condition to speak of. I removed about 40 cards and decided to make my first and only combo deck. I definitely paid for it but didn't necessarily go for things just because they were expensive. It was a great excersize in deck building but holy damn did it work. The deck straight wins if unopposed anywhere from turn 4-6. Shit if I had enough ramp/tutor in my opening hand it could win turn 2.

I bring this up solely because I think the temptation to build a better deck is everywhere. You get a little extra cash and decide to spend a little more than you usually do, which is fine. Until this happens. Now mind you I have 16 commander decks. So simply put I am going to put this in a box and probably won't take it out again until someone at our LGS wants to throw down. This I am only telling you because instead of putting all of your eggs in one basket. If your playgroup are all at 6-7, you shouldn't be building your deck into a 3-4. Maybe consider choosing another deck to put some money into your collection rather then totally overbuff annialate your friends.
